Episode 4

Kian “I'm here to accept you as my mate. To take you back home to be my Luna.” Ariana blinked furiously, seemingly taken aback by my words. I didn't blame her; I would be too if I were in her shoes. “Is this a joke?” she asked, her hands unclasping and forming into fists on the table. “It's not.” She let out a bitter laugh. “Surely you can't be serious?” “I am.” She paused, letting her green orbs bore into mine, and for a minute, I foolishly thought she would do my bidding. “Get out,” she said through gritted teeth. My jaw clenched. I had been expecting her to be flustered and probably excited that she would finally be with me, her mate. “What?” I asked, sending her a threatening glare. No one said that to an Alpha, much less me. She didn't back down. Instead, she got to her feet, her black heels making her seem taller than her five feet four inches frame. When she walked and stopped in front of me, I couldn't help but release a growl at the strong smell of whatever human she had been with. “Don't let me find this human, Ariana. Or I'll kill him.” I raised my head to meet her gaze, her hands on her waist and a scowl on her face. “You won't find him, you know why? Because you're leaving now. Get the f**k out.” My jaw ticked. She was going to be difficult. My beta had advised against doing this my own way. Of course, she was pissed. Who wouldn't be after my cruel rejection? I slowly stood to my feet, towering over her at six feet two inches. Her scowl did not falter even when our height difference was enough to intimidate her. A surge of satisfaction went through me at that. “Look. We can do this the hard way, which involves you on my shoulder, your ass in the air, kicking and screaming, or we could do this the easy way, which is you, just quietly following me back home,” I said, looking down and holding her gaze. I probably shouldn't have stood up or been this close to her, but it was too late for that now. Her curly brown hair glinted under the light in the room, and her sapphire green eyes held a sparkle that made me want to stare into them for eternity. Her lips, which were held in a thin line, were so full I couldn't help but imagine them around my c**k. My length twitched at the thought. Inside me, my wolf yelped, happy with that idea. “You won't dare do that.” She c****d her head. “You know why? Because you won't dare risk our exposure to the humans. There's no way anyone would see you kidnapping me and not call the police.” Her arms folded across her chest. “Tell me, Kian, how would you explain to the police why you have fangs or why your claws suddenly come out when you instinctively start defending yourself?” My jaw clenched. She was right. I couldn't do that. A smirk graced her lips as she knew she had made a good point before scowling and strutting to the door. I called it strutting because her full ass wiggled in that short wine-red office dress she wore, making me almost gulp. “Please.” That stopped her in her tracks. She slowly turned to me, surprise showing on her face. “Please, come back home, Ariana. I need you,” I said, my eyes softening at the edges, letting her see my desperation. “Please.” She stood there, letting her eyes move up and down my body. “I have a life here, Kian. I'm building an empire. I have someone who loves me for me and doesn't expect me to be strong.” She let out a laugh. “Hell, I just signed a life-changing deal for my business.” The laugh formed into a frown. “You had your chance, alpha. I begged you. I was in severe pain for months, and what did you do? You ignored me like a piece of trash.” A cloud of shame hung over my head. She didn't know the reason why I did that. She didn't know I did that to protect her from me. “Ariana, I'm sorry about that. I was stupid and—” “You f*****g hurt me, Kian. You tore our bond.” She pounded her fist on her chest. “No amount of groveling from you can fix that. I have my life ahead of me now.” A look of resignation passed in her eyes. “You can go back to where you came from; I'm definitely not coming with you.” “I won't let you go that easily, you know that. We are mates. We are destined to be together no matter what,” I spat. “OH, NOW YOU KNOW THAT,” she yelled. “WHEN YOU CAUSED ME THAT TRAUMA, YOU DIDN'T KNOW THAT?” Her eyes flashed with red as she spoke. I didn't answer her because, of course, I did. I had just wanted her as far away from me as possible. She took in a trembling breath in an attempt to get a hold of herself, closing her eyes. Green eyes met my blue ones as she opened her eyes, willing her emotions to calm down. Her parents had told me that she was living with humans and suppressing her wolf instincts to avoid the pain of the broken bond. “Which is harder?” Confusion graced her features as I spoke. “Living with humans and being in a relationship with one, or suppressing your wolf instincts?” She looked away. “You need to leave.” “Not until you come home with me.” There was a knock on the door before it swung open. A blonde-haired human strolled in; his eyes held an annoying glint, and as I smelled him, I knew he was the human—the f*****g bastard who touched my mate. Red clouded my vision, and in a second, I was in front of him, my hands wrapped around his neck. “KIAN, STOP IT.” Ariana's voice filled my mind as I growled at the weak human whose eyes were wide with fear and who was trembling like a chicken, clawing at my hand wrapped around his neck. Pathetic.
