Sasha's POV The dorm room felt smaller. Or maybe I was shrinking inside it, folding in on myself, becoming bones wrapped in fabric and secrets. Alex didn’t say a word about what he’d seen. Not once. Not even a passing glance at my bandages, not even a pointed joke about walking in on someone naked. Because he didn't notice, and I was so glad. But silence could be more suffocating than any scream. He moves differently now, too casually. Like he was walking around a sleeping animal and didn’t want to startle it. Or worse, like he already knew the animal’s bite and wanted to see how far he could get before it snapped. At breakfast, he sat closer than usual.
