Problem on Valentine's day

Episode 4

1 YEAR LATER

Manchester International Airport is abuzz with noises from different angles.

The airport law enforcement seems to be tired of the people trooping into the airport to welcome the most awaited top star.

As Cassandra Morgan descended the airplane, her manager quickly rushed to adjust her dress and the bodyguards stream around her like a flower covered with flies.

The manger quickly handed her the phone, "You have a call"

She collected it nonchalantly and ran her hands through her hair, "They can't even wait till I get home before bombarding me with calls"

"Hi Ken? I thought you'll come and receive me?"

The latter from the other end laughed and said, "Happy Vals Baby girl, Should I let your fans lynch me? Pass the main reception and see the battalion waiting for you"

Cassandra laughed loud, "Why should anyone wait for me as if I was coming back from hell. You see....."

Her voice trailed off as soon as she stepped out of the arrivals gate into the main reception. Cheers and chants of "CM! CM!!" Filled the air. Posters and banners bearing her name and picture waved above the crowd while everyone is wearing red and white attires which symbolized Valentine's day"

Her eyes widened as she asked slowly, "Ken, is...is.. today Valentine's day?"

"Don't you know?"

Sh quickly composed herself, "No nothing, I mean... are they here for me? Is this for real?"

The latter laughed again, "What did you think? You're working for the biggest producer in Manchester and you don't expect a crowd? Come back here quickly my crew prepared a welcome for you"

The call ended after he said that while Cassandra's eye's welled up in gratitude as gazed at the sea of fans.

Her mind flashed back to last year when she was leaving Manchester through this same airport for the film project.

Since she was the Female lead, she has to leave the country since the setting is not Manchester. Alice Brown had turned down the offer for the second female lead since she failed at getting the female lead.

The threathing tear finally fall as she remembered how many tongues lashed at her when the movie poster came out that she was the female lead.

Who would have thought that her washed up life will take a drastic change within that one year she was away. Now CM is back! Not as a washed up divorced actress but now a top star.

And to top it all, it was in Valentine's day. The day that marred her life now became the day of joy.

Thesame public that dissed and exterminate her for attempting to kill her ex husband because she was jealous, the same people that called her Valentine's day jinx, the same public that ended her career because her nudes were revealed are now here with smiles and posters carrying her picture while welcoming her.

"Welcome back to Manchester, CM"

"Cassandra Morgan made the whole of Manchester proud"

"Happy Vals CM"

"Win an Oscar CM, the whole of Manchester is rooting for you"

'Have I truly make it back to the top? Thank you life for giving me another chance' She thought and walked majestically towards her enthusiastic fans.

There's a shout of triumph throughout the airport. In the next moment, videos upon photos rented the social media and major TV stations.

On everyone's lips was the word; "CM is back on Valentine's day"

That night, she was invited to several welcome parties of which she only attended the one organized by her agency.

"Welcome back CM, I really miss you have you been well?" Kenneth Harper said.

Cassandra smiled exchange toast with him. Her mind flashed back to that day when she came back from the movie audition and he followed her.

"Only if he hasn't followed me then, my life would have been a mess right now. Thank you coming to my life" she thought.

Kenneth Harper has decided to invest in her life and her career right from that moment only if she promised to work harder.

Cassandra can't help but place him in a special place in her heart because if not for him, her life would have been a living hell.

As the party commenced, Cassandra stumbled out of the room to the restroom when she bumped into someone.

She looked up and Damn it's Alice Brown.

Cassandra looked at her cousin who hasn't changed much over the years. She didn't say a word but instead walked pass her and made to leave when Alice said, "Is it fun?"

Cassandra looked back and asked curiously, "Fun? What's fun?"

Alice grabbed her dress and faced her with a malicious glare, "You must be over the moon right now that you're the hottest actress in Manchester right now aren't you? You must so proud of yourself so much that today happen to be Vals?"

Cassandra smirked, "Is that coming from someone that framed me just to get rid of me?"

"Cassandra Morgan don't be happy yet, continue soaring higher, but remember that the higher you raise, the harder you fall" Alice spat.

Cassandra yanked her hand away from her and left for the restroom without any words. As she sat on the toilet bowl, her mind flashed back to Alice's wrongdoings.

How she had snatched Obadiah, framed her tarnish her image, everything flowed back.

With determination shimmering in her eyes, she said, "I will never give you the chance to have pride over me Alice Brown. I'm no longer the washed up Cassandra Morgan. I'm now CM! The top star!"

The next morning, before leaving the hotel they were staying, Cassandra decided to go for bicycle riding before preparing herself for the day.

As she wore a mask that casted a shadow over her beautiful face as she rode the bicycle she took from the gym through the bustling streets of Manchester.

Her phone vibrated from her pocket but she didn't stop instead, she picked the call through the earpods.

"Yes?" She asked.

Kenneth's worried voice echoed over the phone to her ears as he asked, "CM where are you? Everyone is worried"

"Oh sorry, you were still sleeping when I left, I decided to have a nice bicycle ride to strengthen my tired limbs, but I'll be back soon I'm not faraway"

With a sigh, Kenneth ended the call.

When she realized that she has rode for enough time, Cassandra turned back towards the hotel immediately.

As she stopped by the gate so she could paddle the bicycle in, a car stopped beside her.

Cassandra adjusted her mask so she won't be recognized and made towards the gym but she heard the car opened and footsteps following her.

She hurried her movements towards the hotel gym and was about to open the door when a hand stopped her.

She looked back at the intruder, she froze.

"Happy Vals CM" he said.
