Fanny gave a soft "Hmm," lifted her chin slightly, and her gaze hardened with determination.
That evening, Quinn was lying in bed, nearly drifting off to sleep when she heard Luca returning from his study. She immediately perked up and strained her ears to catch his movements.
Luca climbed into bed carefully and wrapped his arm naturally around her waist. His actions were as familiar as ever, warm breath brushing against Quinn's neck. She couldn't help but shiver.
"You're not asleep yet?" Luca asked quietly.
"I was about to be, but..."
"Sorry."
