DeKalb and all its institutions are fictional, as are Greenedale and Wooster, PA, and Howe and Wooster Universities. However, there really is a New York City, and every November, bagpipe bands march in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade down Fifth Avenue. *cough*
