"Hello Regina?" I say on the other end as i sit on my bed
"Hello Lisa, i hope you good over there?"
"Yeah I'm good, what about you"
"I'm good too, was just checking on you, and confirming if you taking those medicines as i instructed you to?"
"Of course yeah ,thanks i can see some slight changes, thank you"
"No problem, it's the least i could do, so what are your plans now that you out of the country far away from you enemies?"
"To be sincere i have no solid plan right now but I want to do my own investigations"
"How are you going to do that, remember that to the world you're dead?"
"Yeah that's on my mind already,I'll figure things out,but first i think it's good if start my training the earlier the better"
"Yeah that's a great move, especially now that you can't underestimate them,what about your husband,do you think he is involved in Amanda's case?"
"I don't know, that's what I'm going to find out, because the last time I checked, Amanda was ordered to be killed by Tina's guys, apparently my mother in law"
"Ooh I have my own doubts about those guys,i mean what if they let her go after she offered them some cash,this Amanda chick is a thorn in the flesh"
"You might be right,let me talk to Kenneth and see what he has got so far, he's my undercover private investigator whom i trust, i hope he doesn't let me down"
"I know Kenneth,he won't let you down, I've practically seen him work for other people and trust me, he does his job the best, just trust him on this"
"Okay thank for calling, i hope no one knows about my calls with you"
"Absolutely no one, this is all private"
"Okay have a nice day, will talk to you later" i say and i don't wait for her reply i simply hand up
I know you might be wondering why I'm trusting Regina this much, but trust me, right now, I'd rather do something else rather than trusting her, not only her but any person of her gender, i don't trust women when it comes to matters with secrets, so she's just one of those people i don't trust.
Regina was only useful when i was planning my decamp and faking my own death, game well played but i can't trust her twice, i mean what if she goes out there and blows my cover? Who is to blame? You might see me as an ungrateful woman but I always doubt Regina will dissimulate and betray me one day, my instincts are ever right and when it comes to them, i always choose them over anything else, i have no time for regrets right now, i only want to make things right and place everything back in order. That's why i asked Kenneth to track all her calls and be reporting to me if he notes something suspicious, and unknown to Regina, all my calls with her are always deleted, a few minutes after we've talked but she can't know that, it was Kenneth's suggestion, which i simply obliged to it because he's my right hand and my most trusted man
Talking about Kenneth, i had asked him to keep tabs on Amanda and do some background check on her, i wanted to know her dad, her mom and her relatives, how they started dating with Adrian and what happened between them, i know I'm supposed to trust my 'husband's story' but right now I only want to work with solid proofs and not speculations.
I met Kenneth, about three years ago, he was referred to me by one of my clients back in the office and I did my check on him, he's a clean guy and i only saw him as the best person to work with, i paid him handsomely, and when I asked him to buy for me a house out of the country, he didn't disappoint me, from then my trust in him grew and i later asked him to find Visa's and identification card for the said country, he did his woke pretty well in that when I was escaping from the county, i didn't have problems on the way.
He made sure my flight was booked on time and I had no one to stop or doubt my traveling documents.
I'm dressed in black yoga pants and luminous green sports bra, luminous green sports shoes, i tie my hair in a high pony tail and head towards the living room.
The house is somehow big compared to my matrimonial house, it has a total of five sled contained bedrooms and one master bedroom which I'm the one who is using it, two bedrooms upstairs together with my master bedroom and three more bedrooms downstairs, which Alice and Mariana uses the two of them, the remaining is the guest room , a spacious living room with a digital smart TV mounted on the wall, classic couches and a one glass coffee table in the middle, the dining room is just opposite, a spacious kitchen, which is actually my dream kitchen ,i rarely cook because Alice and Mariana do cook, I'm living like a queen.
I know you might be wondering how I came to own all these, well when i was working is used to save plus i would get allowances from my husband's company since I was also a shareholder, that's how I managed to buy myself this mansion. I have several cars in the parking lot, a swimming pool just outside my house, and an electric fence which is surrounding the mansion, Kenneth ensured a high tech security system, you need a card which is usually used to swipe at the gate before it opens automatically, the house is also improvised with a security system which you can only use cards, finger prints or and eye contact for the door to be opened.
I say hi to Mariana who is busy wiping the coaches and i proceed to sit in the dining room.
My breakfast is already served, a glass of lemon juice, a glass of cold milk, some eggs and pancakes.
After breakfast, i pick my headphones and head straight to the gym which is at the basement, I'm to start some gym and my trainer is a middle aged young man. He's a well fit guy and Kenneth's choice, i had no problem which his choice so long as I was getting the kind of training i wanted, and after that I was to attend some fighting classes which my gym instructor was well at, and Kenneth's suggestion that I had to know how to use a gun, i told him I'll consider it later.
My trainer is not yet in although he said he'll be here in five minutes since he was stuck in the middle of the traffic jam.
I keep myself busy, i choose my favorite playlist on the phone, connect it to my headphones via Bluetooth speaker and put them on, i walk to the treadmills where i start jogging as i listen to music
Two minutes into my work out, my phone vibrates from the bench and i pause the music to receive the call, it's Kenneth.
"Morning Ms Lisa?" He says on the other end
"Morning Ken, i was just about to call you but you then called, how is the going?"
"Ooh everything is pretty good" he says
"Any news so far?"
"Yeah your twins, Adrianna and Alistair just traveled back to the US today morning, Logan is still with his dad but Kayla has moved in to your mom's house,she will be staying with her "
"Ooh" i say as i try to picture my little girl Kayla, she so much loved her grandma and I'm just happy she chose to stay with her i mean what if Adrian gets another wife and she Mistreats my kids, the thought alone scares me i can't watch him let another woman mistreat my kids.
"So any news about Amanda, you know what I asked you to check on?"
"Oh yeah, you won't believe what i found out!"
"Just tell me, is there any thing I should be worried about?"
"Yeah, i guess this is the strangest news you've ever heard, and it's shocking too" he says and i think I'm running out of patience
"You know you keeping me waiting, just tell me the news for once and for all, i guess I'm in the best position to handle any kind of news right now" i say trying to be patient
"Well let me just send you something in your email, i hope you having your laptop with you?"
"Yeah in my study, I'll just go there and check"
"Okay sure check your mail after five minutes" he says that and i hung up
I don't know why I'm having butterflies in my stomach,I have a feeling that what Kenneth is about to send me is something egregious, I'm so flurried and i keep fiddling with my fingers as i open my laptop.
