Chapter 59 Secret Information on Boss

1114 Words
Ivan, Leo, and Claire silently ate their burnt dinner. Claire sat with her head lowered in shame, listening to Ivan pick on her.   “I didn’t mean to!” Claire cried.   “Claire has no talent when it comes to cooking. We should make sure she stays away from the kitchen,” Ivan advised.   “Damn you!” Claire banged her fork on the table, then rushed furiously to the bedroom, slamming the door behind her.   “Did we complain too much? Claire has tried her best after all. We ate her food and then continued to harass her…” Ivan said, feeling sorry.   Leo nodded his head in agreement.   “f**k!” Ivan gave him the middle finger.   After dinner, Ivan asked Leo, “You mentioned a boss, didn’t you? But that information was passed on by Rose Lovato. Is it reliable? She’s suspicious.”   “You don’t trust her? Isn’t she your girl?” Leo looked puzzled.   “Come on, I just met her. Let’s log on to the game first,” Ivan told Leo as he put on his helmet.   Leo’s information on the boss came from Rose, Ivan assumed that Leo mentioned it and believed it was true. Rose invited him to the Heavenly Room and told him secret information about a boss that had a Guild Establishment Token. Yet, Ivan couldn’t afford to be careless, Rose was not a simple woman, so he searched for her as soon as he logged in.   They met in the secluded backyard of the restaurant again, which had roses planted in every square inch.     Why does she always choose this place? Does she have plans for me?                                                                Rose was unaware of his thoughts, but she sensed his mistrust. Therefore, she explained, “You came for the information on the suspected Hell Boss, right? You can rest assured, the most loyal of my disciples risked his life to get this secret information. It can’t be false.”   “The Boss is called Valley Bull. Don’t be fooled by its ordinary appearance. It is in fact a real Hell Boss. Though he is at about Level 30, his Attack is rather common, even lower than that of a Level 20 Super Boss. The only difficult point in killing him is that you have to slam him with output because it has an exceptionally large volume of Blood and a high level of Defense. But, the worst part is its particularly high speed of Health recovery, but if there are over forty players, I think you can take it down.”   “Where is it? What are the coordinates?” Ivan asked her while staring into her eyes.   Rose answered, “It’s in a valley, three miles to the north of Leaf Town. Go in that direction and you’ll see the valley. You cannot miss it!”   “Okay, I will believe you this time. However, if you are lying to me, I will exile you from Leaf Town!” Ivan looked at her for a moment and found her eyes remained steady, so he had more trust in what she said, and then he turned to leave.   Many of their old teammates from Pursuer gathered at the north fork of town. Leo asked Ivan, “Shall we invite Left-handedLove and FallenAngel?”   “No, they do not belong to the Pursuer.”   “Okay,” Leo replied with a nod, then he beckoned the group members to set out.   They quickly reached the valley because three miles was not a great distance and most of the team were Warriors, who moved fast. The valley was overrun with weeds and low growing shrubs. But, that gave them a wide field of vision and Ivan immediately caught sight of a tan-colored bulled eating grass near the bottom of the valley.   Leo also saw it. He beckoned the other people to stop and then said in an uncertain tone, “This is the Hell Boss that beauty talked about?”   Suspicion overtook Ivan, he motioned to Claire then whispered, “Claire, shoot an arrow so we can test it.”   After Claire pulled back the bowstring and fired an arrow at the bull’s back, its attributes appeared.   Valley Bull (Average) Level: 12 Attack: 25 Health: 320 Defense: 16 Introduction: An ordinary bull that eats grass   “What the f**k?”   Astonishment registered on everyone’s face.   “Oh, heck. We’ve been tricked by that b***h,” Leo furiously chopped the shrub beside him in two with his machete.   Ivan was also disappointed, “Why did she lie to me? What is she up to?”   Nope, this creep is not that simple.   Ivan turned to Claire and continued to say, “Claire, shoot one more arrow.”   Claire directly applied Ranger’s proud skill Piercing Arrow without asking any question. The sharp arrow moved quickly through the air, more than 10 times more violent than the last one.   -8   Claire had only reached Level 15 but still a powerful Piercing Arrow should have done more harm than a single digit. She was able to exert more harm when she was attacking Golden Boss, Skullshatterer who was at Level 22. The 8-point harm to an average-level bull meant that it was not an average creep.   “Get ready to fight!” Ivan raised his Magic Stick.   The bull was resistant to the attacks and continued to bury itself in the grass, which filled Ivan with a sense of awe.   “Warriors, charge. Mages and Rangers, launch a long-range offensive. Ivan and the other two Priests, get prepared to use your healing powers,” Leo as well observed that this bull was out of the ordinary and commanded in a grim voice.   “Will do!”   “Yes!” Ivan nodded heavily.   With Leo in the lead, everyone saw the bull slowly approach.   “Enjoy my attack, you jackass!” Leo ran up to the bull, wielding his machete in the typical Warrior style.   -12   An embarrassing figure arose from the bull’s head.   “Mount a collective attack!” Ivan roared, naturally casting Green Powder to lower the bull’s Defense and Health.   “Go!”   -8   -9   The attacks by the other Pursuers caused far less damage than Leo’s strike.   “It only has 320 Blood. Hang in there!” Ivan encouraged when looking at the bull’s Health bar. However, he had an uneasy feeling, the creep was so disturbing. Its Stats showed it to be average, but they could barely do any damage to it.   Not surprisingly, when the bull had a tenth of HP left, something happened. There was a loud bang, then dazzling rays of blood-red light burst out of the bull and spread in all directions, hurting a dozen Warriors, including Leo. They flew through the air and then slammed to the ground, smashing shrubs and broken branches.   -600   High amounts of Damage floated about their heads, many of them were close to death. Ivan rushed to throw Mass Heal at them, an exciting spark glinting in his eyes. A creep with such destructive power was by no means average, it had to be a Hell Boss.   Leo hastened to get up and laughed with delight, “Lovato didn’t lie to us, hahaha.”   “Mates, before us is a terrific opportunity to get rich. Charge at it!”
