Chapter 16- Mission Changed

1122 Words
Honestly, Ivan never expected to hear Fiona say she had the HP Fragment. He started to wonder what the HP Fragment was for and why the tiny fragment was more important than the thousands of lives in Leaf Town. Ivan started to question her even more but Fiona was provoked by the way he was glaring at her.  Fiona smiled and said, “I probably look really selfish right now, don’t I?” Ivan snarled, "Aren’t you?" Fiona sat down on a boulder and sighed deeply, "You have no idea. I couldn’t let Dark Dragon get the HP Fragment. Dark Dragon and his Demon Race could get unimaginable power from this HP Fragment, which would be a disaster for our entire continent." "As Loda's successor, I must make my choice, either to sacrifice Leaf Town or the whole continent. Tell me, what would you choose if you were me?” “I would rather die than give them the fragment.” A bitter smile showed on the corner of Fiona's mouth. People only saw the glory as of the lord of a city, however, they never really had the chance to see how much pressure the leader had on them or the efforts involved to keep a city from crumbling. People could never imagine the thing the leader wanted most was never the power but freedom, but as the leader, they always had no choice. Ivan was sympathetic to this beautiful woman, it gave him a different outlook when he could see how others lived their lives. Many people only saw what was happening from their own point of view but never from a different angle. If there was anything that Ivan had learned in the hours of playing the game, it was that he should never think like a modern-day person in the fake game. He could see that it was the most amazing part of the game, he was not playing a game but living a life in the game. Ivan had been deeply engrossed by Rivalry, of course, not only by the design of the game but also the 2000 gold coins in his bag. Maybe after he should figure out how much he could get if he sold all of the coins. He believed that only a few people could get that many gold coins in such a short period of time so there would be room to negotiate.  Seeing the dollar signs and being $100,000 in debt to Leo, Ivan was going to make sure he made the best use of every coin he had. Plus, Leo had never mentioned a wage or anything else, he had to get himself out of the trap as soon as possible.  Fiona spoke, interrupting Ivan's daydream of wealth, "My warrior, you see, ToughBlazer and I have been seriously injured. We need to stay here for a while until we get better. Can you do me a favor?" "Sure! I promise I will get it done no matter how much it costs!” Ivan blurted out without hesitation.  Is this an S-Rank mission again? Think about it! A mission from the successor of Loda city! The award must be greater than the last one! Award…award…what will award could be this time?… Will she propose to me? How could I say no to such a beautiful woman? Ivan began to drift off into a dream world again, while Fiona watched him smiling. She took a golden square token out of her pocket and got Ivan's attention, “This is my identity token. You should go to Loda City and show this to my father. I am sure he will send someone here to get me. Can you help me, Bishop?” "Sure, but can I get any award after this?" Ivan took the black iron token with Fiona carved in the middle. Fiona didn’t know how to reply to the greedy man standing in front of her, "Don't you, as a member of Loda, have an awareness of serving the whole city?" Ivan laughed loudly, "Of course I do, but you know how busy I am. You know what? I don’t want to stay here one more second if it’s not for the 1000 reputation.” ToughBlazer couldn’t stand aside anymore. He picked up a pebble and then threw it to Ivan, "Leave! Now!” Ivan rubbed his a*s and then stuck his middle finger up at ToughBlazer and then suddenly the system voice came on.  System: Mission "Go to Loda" has changed! Fiona was seriously injured at Leaf Town. She will be unable to leave for Loda city in a short time, so you will go to Loda city so that the Lord could send people to support her. Mission Difficulty: S Mission Time Limit: 48 Hours (Rest Time: 30 hours 18 minutes) Mission Award: XP+6000; Gold Coins+150 Condition: Fiona is alive Failure Punishment: Loda Reputation-1000 "Ahaha, EXPERIENCE POINT +6000, and gold coins+150. Not bad, not bad!” Ivan whispered looking at the mission. After turning off the mission prompt, Ivan switched to the map. Just as Ivan made sure the position of Loda City and was about to leave, once again he felt that someone was tapping on his game helmet. He temporarily dropped out of the game and took of his helmet. Ivan first stretched his waist and neck, and then turned to Claire, "Claire, you know what the most annoying thing in my life is?" Claire, blinking her big eyes, asked, "No idea. Tell me, tell me!” Ivan said angrily, "Having someone knock on my head!” "Thank God, I didn't hit you on your head, " replied Claire innocently. Ivan rolled his eyes: "Twice, you knocked on it twice!" Clearly Claire smiled and said, "I didn't hit you on the head, just hit your helmet. They aren’t the same thing!”  Ivan didn’t know what to say to the young girl. He stood up to look at the time, it was 9 a.m. already. He had played Rivalry all night, “Great! Time for food and rest!” "Claire, was there anything you want to tell me? You know, a guy who is born to conquer the world is quite busy.” Ivan walked toward the kitchen while talking to Claire. Claire did not feel uncomfortable with Ivan's arrogance but looked at him with admiration. She even pulled Ivan's sleeve, "Ivan, I know you played all night. You must be hungry now! I’ve prepared some breakfast for you! Don’t tell me you want to blame an angel who prepared breakfast for you?” Ivan was overjoyed to hear this, "No, no, no, of course not! My dear Claire, how could I be rude? Okay, well, I will forgive you for knocking on my head this time.” Claire continued, "Ivan, you just killed such a high-level boss! You have no idea how much I admire you! Can I play with you? You know, Leo only gives me $3,000 per month. Please, let me play with you!” Ivan shouted out immediately, "What? $3,000 per month? That is totally unfair! Unfair!"
