Chapter 6Niveus was late.
The mere thought of arriving a minute past the scheduled time made him uneasy.
Time was of the essence to a cat of his status, and spare time was a luxury he could not afford. After all, he was a Minister of Internal Affairs and he built his impressive feline career on punctuality, among many other qualities that he would happily discuss if only he had a free minute.
He furiously dabbed at the minuscule stain that dared to land on the sleeve of his suit. His patience was wearing thin and the dull music that floated in the tall, glass elevator was not helping one bit.
“Auxilium,” he commanded in an authoritative tone.
“Yes, Minister of Internal Affairs,” said an invisible, automated voice.
“Remind me to discuss an alternative to this horrible melody with the
