Chapter 26It was a cold Saturday morning.
Riley joined Taisia and Evelína in part two of the Eylox Tournament try-outs. Now, she wished she hadn't.
“IS THIS EVEN LEGAL?” Riley screeched as she nervously crawled underneath the barbed wires and slid through the thick mud.
Her body was numb from the cold and she could barely wiggle her fingers and toes.
“Weaver, mouth shut, butt down!” Professor Peachy barked back.
She reached the second obstacle and climbed the slippery, metal bars to the top of the watchtower. On the platform stood a young girl with smooth, dark skin and buzzed, platinum blonde hair.
She gave Riley a quick once over and quietly motioned for her to come closer. “Are you afraid of heights?” She asked tersely.
