Chapter 3

"Brother wait," Kaydence yelled running after Kace.
"Young prince shall we stop," Jax asked.
"Yes," Kace sighed.
Kace got off his horse and then turned to face Kaydence. She ran over and him crying softly.
"Why are you crying," Kace asked.
"Please don't go brother," Kaydence begged.
Kace crouched down and hugged her tightly.
"I have to you know that. Stay here and listen to Father and keep studying. When I come back we can play our games then. Im only gonna be gone for a couple of weeks. Now dry your tears," Kace said.
"Alright brother please be safe," Kaydence said letting go of Kace.
"I will," Kace said then stood up.
He got up on this his horse and started through the gate. Kaydence yelled bye-bye to them then as they disappeared into the distance. Once they were out of sight she went back into the palace. For the next couple weeks, Kaydence studied hard and listened to his father. The day Kace was to come back Kaydence waited by the gate. As the day turned to night she remained waiting. A couple of maids approached her.
"He's not coming back is he," Kaydence asked.
"We're not sure princess. But his majesty wants you to come back in before you get sick," the first maid said.
"He said he'd be back today," Kaydence replied.
The maids looked at each other and then at her.
"Maybe he is just running a bit late and will be here in the morning," the second maid said.
Kaydence went inside with the maids but ran straight into her room.
Four months had passed and Kaydence was at the gate once again. The palace wasn't the same since her brother left. He has now been missing for four months and she was starting to worry something had happened. Meanwhile, Zion and Xander were walking through the town.
"The noble prince is still gone. The noble king's men are everywhere. So we demons have to be careful," Zion said.
Xander nodded and stayed close to Zion. While they were walking a guard bumped into Xander knocking him to the ground. Zion crouched down beside him and was about to help him up a guard pushed him to the ground.
"Stupid demons are always in the way," the first guard said.
"Why don't we just kill them," another guard said.
The guards pulled their swords out on them. Xander and Zion closed their eyes trembling. As they were about to swing their swords they suddenly stopped. Zion and Xander heard what sounded like a wolf and fox growling. They slowly opened their eyes to see that the guards were looking behind them.
"What the hell are you doing," the third guard yelled.
"Put them to sleep Viotto," a voice said.
"Yes sir," Viotto said.
Viotto put the guards to sleep and then went back to the person who ordered him to do so. The person then went over and crouched down in front of the two.
"Are you two alright," the person asked.
"We're alright thank you," Zion answered.
"Why didn't you show them this," the person said picking up the Harlem that Kace had given him and handing it back.
"I didn't have time to react and I got scared," Zion said taking it.
"It's alright just remember to show it next time," the person said.
"Master there many guards in the town and near the gate," Viotto said.
"Father seems to have lost it," the person said.
"Young prince we should head to the palace," Jax said.
"Alright. Zion you and your friend should head home as soon as possible. Remember to show the Harlem next time," Kace said.
"Huh alright. Wait how did you know my name," Zion answered.
Kace took off his hood and mask then Jax and Bex took theirs off.
"Kace," Zion said.
"Yep be careful heading back. I have to see Father," Kace said.
Jax and Bex got on their horses and brought Kace his. Once he got up on his horse they headed back to the palace. Kaydence saw people with cloaks and masks riding up to the gate so she hid in the bushes nearby. She watched from the bushes as guards began to fall asleep. The three men on horseback entered through the gate and started to the palace when they stopped.
"Master she's in the bushes," Viotto said.
Kace got off his horse and then walked to the bushes when he stopped and turned around. The noble king was standing there with more guards. Jax and Bex summoned Witt and Caspian but remained on their horses.
"You sent us away on a suicide mission," Kace said walking towards his horse.
"It's been four months since I sent you three on that mission. It was only supposed to take a couple weeks," the noble king said.
"A couple of weeks. It took us four months to complete. We were always on the move. It seems you wanted us to die so you could follow your dreams," Kace said angrily.
"Now son why would I want you and the best guards of this palace to die," the noble king asked.
Kace took off his mask and cloak the placed them on his horse. Jax and Bex got off their horses and then removed their mask and cloaks.
"Master somethings off," Caspian said.
"I agree," Bex said.
"Young prince," Jax said.
"Yes," Kace answered still watching his father.
Viotto landed next to Kace watching the king. Wixx and Caspian then went over and stood next to the Kace. Kace then knew what Jax was gonna say.
"We're being watched," Bex said.
The guards around the king took out their swords and then looked around. Bex and Jax did the same. Kaydence ran out from the bushes over to Kace and hugged him. Kace put his arm around her and then pulled out his sword. Viotto flew up into the sky and looked around.
"I see Reina and Lucuis. They are fighting off some weird creatures. Flynn and Xavier are fighting as well," Viotto said.
"Jax Bex my horse," Kace said.
"Young prince it isn't safe to leave," Jax said.
"I know but the town is in danger," Kace said.
"Here's your horse young prince but we are sending Wixx and Caspian with you," Bex said.
"Alright protect Kaydence," Kace putting his sword away and then getting on his horse.
