8. Mimic

It's currently 6th June, 2100, and it has been more than 5 months, since the Apocalypse befell in the society. At this moment though, everyone had a different opinion towards the apocalypse.

When multiple dungeons started spawning throughout the world, the initial response from the humans had been very lax, of course that wasn't the case for every nation.

There had been huge number of casualties, when the monsters started coming out from the dungeon. Later, a miraculous event occured which would go down in the book of history.

.

Every people that had been slain by the monsters were revived. Unfortunately, all the ressurected Users had recieved various types of penalty, which was termed as debuff by their System. So far it was observed that those who had revived more than 4 times were already comatose.

The government started recruiting as well. A new opportunity has arised since the System and dungeon came into existence.

After some testing, it was found that the existences of the dungeon could be brought to Earth. That meant, anything you see in a dungeon could be brought outside, be it monster's corpse, raw materials like ore, timber, you name it.

This was like the gold rush. Many players jumped into this new pot of gold which was untouched. All the big or small players of the previous Earth wanted to monopolise this Vault of unknown resource.

Handsome salaries were being paid to those who would form a contract with an agent or organisation. Different profession came into existence. Prior to this, unemployment had been a headache for the entire country of Earth. So, the existence of dungeons had brought a new method of employment and income, for the employer and employee alike.

As for exploring the dungeon, it was soon found out that if a dungeon was cleared of all its level, from Easy to Epic difficulty, the dungeon would disappear permanently.

In these fast few months various technology had taken a leap in its progress. Many earth shattering phenomena and resources were being discovered here and now.

The competition had become much more agressive among the various companies and people involved in the dungeon business.

After being reborn with supernatural abilities, many people could finally no longer restrain their hidden desires. With the apocalypse, monsters were not the only problems. The monstrosity of the human desire was displayed too, every other day there would be headlines on some really sickening deeds commited by the humans against their fellow humans.

That's why, Some believed the current world to be a boon and some took it as a curse.

New rules had to be made and a new force had to be set up to tackle and supress such maniacs.

In all of this, our protagonist Heidan was exploring in a Dungeon all alone. In all this period of time, he was already someone who had experienced all these changes. For the past few months, he fell into trouble when the various parties kept pestering him with a contract for employment. Thankfully they didn't come running to his home, but the offers continued coming one way or another. That was, until yesterday during his dungeon run he found a B grade skill called Mimic.

By now, Heidan could be considered one of the stronger players out there. The mainstream players were around level 70-90.

Due to his Talent, Heidan had a base stat of a player around level 600. Inspite of this advantage he had been taking precautions to stay low-key and also avoid dungeons above the epic level.

In the span of these five months, some new dungeons had been manifested. This dungeons highest difficulty level could range from Legendary to Mythical.

So far, certain team had been successful in clearing Legendary level difficulty but it came at a cost. also, the clearance rate of dungeons with such difficulty could be considered abysmal. As for the number of Mythical level cleared could be counted with a single finger.

The people who perished in Legend or Mythic level dungeon had suffered severe penalties.

The current target of Heidan was to keep on grinding and stay far away from trouble. By now, he had a bank balance of 7,200,500 ₹. Previously, earning this amount of money would have been impossible for a person like Heidan, moreover to do it within a span of 5 months.

Heidan also planned on unlocking his third talent, Replication. He had fulfil the level requirement. The system had mentioned that he needed 10 Legendary level core (Boss's Core) to unlock Replication Talent.

" Heidan grimaced at the prospect of grinding. The saving was that he had absorbed many free attributes over the last 5 months.
