Anastasia Scott walked over to the center of the table that laid in the almost dark room safe from the dim light that shone in the room. She wore dark eyeglasses, more like a sun shade even at that time of the evening, complementing her black long sleeved round neck top perfectly tucked into an equally black trousers that covered very part of her feet. She also wore a black high heels in addition to her raven black hair which was packed into a pony tail.
With a mischievous smile, she threw an envelope on the table. Just then, she walked back to a chair and say comfortably on it. Present with her in that room where ten other people, four ladies and six guys.
“Open it” The young lady ordered to one of the ladies. She nodded and walked over to the table, slowly taking the envelope and opening it, occasionally looking at the rest of them from side to side. She opened it and brought out the pictures that were right there in the envelope. She looked at Anastasia, waiting for an explanation.
“Place the pictures on the table” Anastasia ordered again, the devilish smile still plastered on her lips. Even with the devilish smile on her face, she still looked like an angel. She was indeed very beautiful although the piercings that spread across her nose, her face and lips gave her a different description.
The young lady raised her brows as she did not understand what was going on. Anastasia smiled even more when she saw the confusion on her face.
“Is this him?”
“Eva… you've always wanted an answer, haven’t you? You've always wanted justice even when no one was ready to get it for you, isn’t it? Well, that’s him. That is the man for whom your parents were killed” Anastasia revealed.
No, it did not make sense. It did not add up. Eva looked at the pictures again that spread on the table. She picked up the pictures again and looked at them closely. The man in the photograph had a very beautiful smile and looked very innocent. Also, he was too young to must have murdered her parents. How old could he be? 25? 26? 27? What could be the age difference between him and her? Eva looked up at Anastasia again to be sure she heard her right.
“I know you are confused. You see, the young man’s father terminated your father's life for funds to save his life. In other words, your father’s life was exchanged for his life. “ She explained. “So…here it is. You have your answer. The ball is in your court” A devilish grin spread across her face as she looked at the spite and hatred in Eva's eyes as she looked at the picture.
The rain seemed to be in war with the skies as it fell heavily, disrupting everything possible. A young lady stood in the rain, out there, embracing her body as she looked shattered and tattered. She whimpered as the rain fell on her but there was nowhere she could go. She had no home or family whatsoever. Silently praying for an helper. She prayed help would come from somewhere that very minute. The rain began to fall even more. It did not seem like it was going to stop anytime soon.
Just like heavens heard her plea, a black luxury car with tinted glass stopped by the gates of the mansion. Just then, the window of the car was wound down. In the occupier's seat was a woman who seemed to be in her mid fifties.
As soon as she sighted the poor innocent beautiful lady that sat close to her gate, she felt pity and compassion for her. Why would a young lady that beautiful be in such a position?
“Hello” She called with a smile on her face as she looked at the crying young lady. The young lady hurriedly shifted backwards although she did not stand from the floor. Fear gripped her as she wondered if the woman would hurt her or arrest her for staying close to her gate.
“I am very sorry for staying close to your gate ma, please, do not hurt me. I am only here because I have no place to stay. I am very sorry” She pleaded with all sincerity, bowing down occasionally as she trembled with fear. The woman smiled even more as she watched the dramatic display of the young lady.
“What is your name?”
“I am Olive. Please, do not hurt me. Please, do not hurt me. I do not have a place to stay. I do not have anywhere to go and I do not have a job to secure a place that is why I am here. Please, forgive me” She pleaded again, crying even more.
The woman tried to alight from the car. Just then, her security guard who sat in the right front seat alighted with an umbrella. Just like magic, the rain began to cease.
“I am Susanne. You do not need to be scared” She squatted close to Olive and touched her gently on her shoulder. The cold had soaked into Olive's body as she had stayed in the cold for so long. Susanne stood up immediately “Come in with me”
Olive could not believe her ears, she was super excited. Heavens had finally heard her plea. She was finally going to have help. Again, another thought crossed her mind. What if something else happens? What if the woman takes her in and then calls the cops on her for trying to steal in her house.
She however decided to have faith in humanity and walked in after the woman who had already gotten into her car. The door to her car had already been locked and her car window had been wound up again.
Olive looked at the beautiful environment. It was indeed beautiful. Never in her life had she seen a beautiful place like that in her entire life. There were different types of flowers planted in the environment. She looked around even till she entered the mansion. Olive hugged her body as the cold air seeped into her body. Susanne dropped the nude colored large coat on her body as she picked up the remote and put off the Air Conditioner.
“You are drenched.” Susanne looked at Olive from head to toe. The rain had soaked every part of her body that she was beginning to drip. “There” Susanne pointed at a door. “That is the guest room. You will find a new towel there. You can change into it while I check if I can get you a dress”
Olive nodded with an appreciative smile as she trembled from cold. Quickly, she walked to the room. She was amazed at the beauty that lied in the room. There was a study table present there with a beautiful grey chair. The King sized bed was also dressed in a white sheet. It stayed at a perfect angle. White curtains were also hung on the windows. A smile spread across her lips as she studied the room. Finally, she got what she wanted.
She removed the wig that was on her head and took the phone that was hid in it. She opened the messaging app.
“In” She hurriedly typed and sent it to a strange number. As soon as the message was delivered, she deleted quickly. A smile spread on her lips. Cheers to a new story.
