Chapter 0004 The next day arrived like the sun without announcement. Emma Tonks had no plan against the baggage that came with it. She opened up her phone to confirm her early appointment with her doctor, thus attracted to the swarm of notifications she’s gotten on her media. Curiosity forced her to check out one of the many posts her company was tagged in. It was a recorded short video of her crash out at her own wedding. Someone had secretly recorded her and posted her on the internet. Emma had nothing to worry about, she was the victim here. Or so she thought until she opened up the comment sections to see tons of strangers shaming her. ….MelanieO4: Ugh she’s so dramatic…. ….NotadrianaLima: Playing the victim when she’s actually the villain blehhhh…. ….MrsCookieJar: Can’t believe the almighty Emma Tonks is a b***h in disguise…. ….BabyRose9994: This woman used to be my role model, my favorite, my everything. I can’t believe she’d do what she did…. Emma couldn’t believe her eyes as she read through the comments. “What the hell?!” She was shocked by her guts. Are they not watching the video? Or did they not hear her story? ….Lisa___Fier: has anybody found the guy she’s supposedly cheating with or we’re just gonna take the fiancé’s words for it?…. That particular comment sat Emma up. Of course the story has been twisted, because there’s no way humans in their right mind would hear her story and villainize her. Emma spent the next minutes digging through the internet, when she found the video uploaded by her ex fiancé narrating his false experience with her. According to his story, he was the victim, he’d caught Emma in a relationship with some dude on tinder, and instead of him to have been the one to call off the wedding, he didn’t let it bother him because he’s deeply in love with Emma and would like to go on with their marriage. Now he believes Emma truly doesn’t love him anymore and was now probably deep in love with the tinder guy so decided to call off their wedding, accusing him of the most outrageous act. “I hope this bastard breaks his leg.” Emma couldn’t believe her eyes or ears. The lies! The pure unadulterated lies! And the way he managed his tears, to seek sympathy and control public support. He really went low, he went lower than Emma could have imagined. Emma was foaming as she prepared herself for the day. She doesn’t know who she’s more pissed at. Her ex fiancé for breaking her heart and still refusing to let go of the shambles remaining, or the internet for literally believing a false story because the man is in tears. Tears! They all believe a man can never fake their tears and decided it wasn’t worth it to question his story’s integrity, ask for proof, receipts, anything that supports his own claim. Nobody is asking for that. Everyone is just straight up hating on her and her company. Emma was absolutely livid. Nathan has drawn a battle line, he shouldn’t have tried to ruin her reputation. Now he’s going to regret ever deciding to come after her. Emma knew the public would now be onto her. And since any publicity is good publicity, she decided to use this to advance her brand. Emma styled herself in a sleek, body-hugging gown that stopped right above her knee, perfectly accentuating her petite figure. A brand new Birkin bag and a sparkling white pearl necklace plus earrings meant to speak statements of her accessories. Intended for a bold sexy look, she dressed her hair into a luscious straight out with curly ends. Her makeup was simple, yet bright enough to present her an elegant look. As Emma arrived at the hospital for her appointment, eyes followed her every step until she disappeared into her private ward. And when she was done and leaving for her company, she could view all the phones held at an angle secretly to film her under the shade of her sunglasses. It was the same the moment she arrived at her company, and the gazes only boosted her confidence. However, her aura drained the moment she got to her office only to meet Nathan still in her seat. What’s worse, the stupid secretary balanced on his thighs as they both giggled at whatever he must have spouted before her entrance. Emma wasted no time in retrieving her phone to take a shot as proof of his infidelity. She managed one clear picture before the girl scrambled off his legs to his side with her head fallen in shame. Emma scoffed at the sight of her shame because she’s far from ashamed. “What part of our relationship is over, didn't you get it yesterday?” Emma, as calm as ever quizzed as she slowly brought down her sunglasses to reveal her blank stare. “You weren’t in your right state of mind and-“ “And you think coming back here for me to catch you one more time in your dirty act with my secretary is gonna set me right. Correct?” Emma finished his ridiculous sentence for him. “You must be sick.” Emma couldn’t help the chuckle that escaped through her seriousness. “Now listen once and listen good. You’re gonna go back to that same internet where you lied-“ “No you listen and listen good you arrogant b***h!” Nathan jumped out of his chair as he approached Emma in a fiery state. Emma stepped back in both shock and horror. She’s never seen him this red and mentally cracked. “You’ll be the one to marry me. You will forgive what I did and accept what I did and Move The Heck On. I love you and that’s what matters or should matter to you. I’ve been lenient and patient enough for you to pass through this like an adult, but you’ve refused to process this the way I want you to. Now you have to do it the way I want,” his words latched aggressively on Emma’s face. Emma just stood there, speechless and watched him display an act she couldn’t put a name to. Seconds of silence rolled over before Emma bursted into a fit of laughter, “Are you done?” She grilled amidst her cackling. “You dare to threaten me?” Her eyes squinted as her face tilted to gaze at Nathan with amusement. “Baby, that wasn’t a threat. Threat now is that I’m giving you twenty fours to call me and schedule us a meeting at the city’s court to discuss our marriage, failure to get that done and you’ll see just how serious I am with destroying your life,” he said to her, his eyes void of remorse as he whirled his face to meet his redhead girlfriend. “Let’s get out of here sweetheart.” He stretched out his arm for her to take, which she took as they both exited the room.
