Cara’s POV
Today, Daisy had gone grandmother’s house, and Jason had not come home last night. He had called to inform me he wouldn’t be coming though, because he had to be in the OR, and he would also have to work today before coming home in the evening.
Again, I was grateful for the kind of residency program the hospital was running because I didn’t have to work past ten hours except I wanted extra shift for extra learning, but I didn’t. If anything, I had done more volunteer work than most residents in my ward combined anyway.
It was the leniency of the schedule that attracted me to the hospital in the first place, and enabled me to accept Jason’s offer. We might both be busy, but mine wasn’t as bad as his.
