A DEADLY MISSION
Ten years had passed when Sophie had fallen In love with a sworn member of the mutants underground, together they made love to each other and gave birth to a girl which they named Phoebe.
Phoebe was also a mutant like her mum and dad, Phoebe could control machines and teleport just as Reed’s mother as her Mutants abilities.
Unlike any other mutant, Phoebe’s hair was wild and curly, deep orange in colour, By the time she was only eleven years old, Phoebe had started Killing just as her mum.
Sophie taught her to be heartless.
On a faithful evening while mother and child were spending time with each other, strange thoughts came up Phoebe’s mind
“mum, why is my the colour of my hair orange?”
Phoebe asked
“Sweetheart, you are meant for great things”
As Sophie answered shockingly looking at Phoebe confused
“Darling, I suggest you have a good night rest as you going out on your first mission first thing tomorrow morning”
“What is the mission all about, mum?”
Sophie asked inquisitively
“you just don’t worry dear, I’ll explain it all to you tomorrow morning”
Sophie assured
“Goodnight mummy”
Phoebe complemented
Birds chirping in the sky, finally it was a new Dawn, Getting up from bed Phoebe had already Freshen in preparation for the mission as she went to meet Sophie.
Sophie who had gotten up by that time explained how the mission would go and the purpose of it.
“Your First mission is to get a parcel From a bank and eliminate all the workers In the bank, I am sending you and two other members of the mutant underground”
Out of much curiosity, Phoebe questioned Sophie
“Is there any reason behind the elimination and attacking of that bank, I mean what has the bank done to us to warrant that decision?”
“That is a question for when the mission has been completed, so would you go now and remember this is your first mission, Don’t fail me” as Sophie walked out.
As they wore their black custom made suits in preparation for the mission,
Sophie called out to Phoebe for the last time and said
“Do you still remember how to focus your energy in teleportation”
“yeah”
“And lest I forget leave no one alive”.
They all said Replied "okay" entering the custom made SUV.
Arriving at the bank, the Mutants killed two guards protecting the gate of the mini-bank.
Afterwards they went In as the two other mutants started shooting into the air, immediately all the workers had already laid down on the ground, till phoebe said In a tiny and euphonious voice
“We are here to retrieve a parcel with the name labelled 'Reina turner’ on It".
Having said that, she introduced herself briefly of which she asked of the bank manger, who went In with one of the men guarding phoebe bringing a brownish wrapped parcel.
Phoebe and her team retrieved the parcel immediately as the Mutants laced bombs surrounding the whole area.
The mission been half completed as the parcel was retrieved and time for departure, Phoebe teleported away leaving the two guard Mutants who she came with.
She teleported to a distant place far away from the bank as she watched how it exploded with everything and everyone in it.
After watching the deadly show, Phoebe took the SUV they brought and drove home.
On arrival at home, Sophie had prepared the whole place for celebrating her daughters first successful mission till she asked out of shock
“honey, where are your body guards”
Phoebe smiled
“you gave the order not to leave anyone behind”
“Very good sweetheart but next time you don’t just wipe out your own team”
So now will you explain to me why you sent me after that bank and who is Reina Turner?”
Sophie suspended the celebration as she sat phoebe down and started
“Do you remember of a girl I once told you about, Reina. Reina worked on the bank as they took all her belongings when they Figured out she was a mutant , so they sacked her and sent her away, and before Reina had died she told Sophie everything about her and explained to her that It was the bank that ruined their life at First,
So Sophie was angry at the bank and decided to destroy it and eliminate everyone working there
Phoebe then Nodded her head in accordance to what her mother had just said.
“Congratulations on your First mission, I Knew you would never let me down”
Phoebe was able to kill all those people Because of the training she had undergone while staying with her mother presently even right from when she was a kid, Sophie had been teaching her the strategy and tactics in attacking anywhere and elimination of people.
Meanwhile, at the Abandoned warehouse, where Reed and his girlfriend, Caitlyn, Kelvin, John and Doctor Campbell were living, John heard on the radio that the Fanatics agents were planning to attack a place In the woods where a twin Mutant named Joseph and Josephine lived, they were living, because they didn’t have full access to their abilities as they couldn’t control it.
Their mutant power could not work if they were separated but as long as they are together and they had their hands held together they would emit a power blast that could bring a whole building down to ashes.
“if the Fanatics could get their hands on twins, they would do disastrous things with the mutants and if the twins were not willing to co-operate they would torture them, end up Killing them or even with the help of drugs turn them into Hellhounds”.
John explained
“what the hell are hellhounds?”
Caitlyn asked out of curiosity
Doctor Campbell chuckled
“While I was still working for the Fanatics, we categorized people who are Forced into doing whatever they are told to do using drugs, They First undergo serious and dense torture, then if they are still not willing to comply, then they will be forced to use wild and vicious drugs on the mutants to obey. Once drugs are used on them, they become helpless, brainwashed only to do what they are asked to do”
He explained
On hearing this, Reed, Caitlyn, Kelvin and John started preparing on how to rescue the twins.
Back in the mutants underground, Sophie and her husband, Jacob and also with their daughter, phoebe also heard the news.
Immediately, crazy thoughts came up Sophie’s mind on what she could do if she had the twins with their massive power on her side.
“Get ready family we are going hunting”
Sophie ordered ironically
“Mum don’t tell me we’re going on a rescue mission to recruit the Mutant twins as a part of the Mutants Underground”
Phoebe asked out of shock
Sophie smiled and replied Phoebe
“It is a rescue mission, so I suggest you prepare and get ready.
While On the other hand, the Fanatics agents were also set and as required, they equipped themselves with mutants tracking devices, robots for engaging In Fights with mutants as they went for battle.
The good mutants where the First to reach there. on getting there, they Found Joseph First, while the hunting For Food to eat,
“Hey!!!”
John shouted
On hearing this, Joseph took to his heels immediately he saw the group of people following him, the Four of them including Reed ran after trying to talk to him, but he could not hear, then Kelvin got Frustrated and Flew, up to him, then caught him and held him down, later on the others got up to him.
As Reed was heavily panting he said to Joseph
“Calm down tiger, rest assured we are the good guys here”
“we’re not here to capture you or your sister rather we came to your aid because of the other two groups that are coming for you”
“What assurance can you give me that you can protect me and my sister?”
Joseph asked
“Okay then, why not let us start by taking us to her and see for yourself?”
John assured him
“My sister and I are staying in a hut inside the bush, if you guys are serious about the other two groups looking for us then I guess we should hurry.
Immediately, they all started running as Caitlyn asked
“How old are you?”
I’m just 12 years with my sister”
On getting to where his sister is, the Mutants Underground had already brainwashed Joseph's sister, Josephine by explaining to her that If she joins the Mutants Underground she woul gain full access to the good technology which would also enhance them in learning how to control their powers
On hearing that, Sophie also explained that they would never have to run away from anyone or even be afraid, Josephine immediately saw Joseph as she went to hug him and start explaining.
