Introduction We’ve all heard the expression that “revenge is sweet”. Someone else once said that “revenge is best served cold”. The Sicilian Mafiosi put it most eloquently by saying, “the best revenge is the one that comes from careful planning and bringing the most horrendous pain to your enemy.” Now that’s revenge as far as I’m concerned. When someone hurts me either physically or otherwise, I want to get even. You know, “an eye for an eye or a tooth for a tooth” sort of thing. Hell, why stop there? Make the asshole really suffer. I’m not going to wait for him to die and have someone else figure it out, as it’s written in Romans 12:19. Vengeance will be mine, not the Lords, mine - right now, not in some after life. I’m not sure I believe in all that stuff. I want the son of a b***h to pay for wronging me, and I want the pleasure of making him suffer. When a guy cheats on his wife, she doesn’t just forgive him. Why? Because the worthless bastard will just do it again. I’ve always believed that once a cheater always a cheater. As Dr. Phil says, “The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.” The only way to stop it is to take total control of the situation. You know – grab him by the balls and get his attention. What if a college coed walks back into her dorm room and finds a guy rifling through her dresser drawers and stealing her most intimate feminine things? Does she call security or teach the little pervert a lesson that he won’t soon forget? What happens when you find out that someone broke into your house and robbed you of the family’s diamond rings your Grandmother left you? How do you deal with a rotten thief? Imagine a guy you just started dating intentionally gets you drunk and has s*x with you without your permission. Do you forgive him, have him charged with rape or get even? But what happens when some guy wrongs you, and in the end you find out that the revenge you sought was taken out on the wrong man? In the ten short stories that follow we explore these and several other scenarios where women seek revenge after being wronged. How far are they willing to go to get the satisfaction that they want and need? What will they do to enjoy the bitter-sweet taste of revenge? After all payback’s a b***h – especially when you’re on the receiving end.
