SHOOTING STARS I remember shooting pool when Donnie was king, on a Tuesday arvo in the Rolls Bar in Surrey Hills in Sydney. A November torrential thunderstorm outside and Guns & Roses’ November Rain pumping through the near empty bar. We’d been up for more than twenty-four hours. Started in the Bentley at 12.30pm yesterday afternoon. Donnie and I had a room at the four-star Cambridge Hotel. We used the room for ‘speed runs’ and ‘bong runs’ and on those runs we’d sell packets of speed and baggies of g***a. It was incredible the amount of gear we sold. Mind-blowing.
