CHAPTER 4: THE FOOLISH MISTAKE

1091 Words
“I can’t believe you’re willing to use my sick mother’s health to strike a deal with me!” Kya said, horrified. No wonder their families had hated each other for generations. These people were despicable! Especially the man in front of her! He was willing to do anything, use anything just to get what he wanted. This time, she wasn’t sure of what he wanted. “Rowan.” She paused for a minute and called him by only his name. Something she had never done before, expecting the time she had decided to trust him. “What do you want from me? Plainly tell me.” Even if she knew her question wouldn’t be answered sincerely, she asked. “I need you to get Zayn Parker to be the brand ambassador of Levon Enterprise.” He said sincerely. He believed that having a popular brand ambassador for his business would take it to a global level. “Despicable! I can’t believe I was expecting something noble from you. “ She didn’t know which other insult that would best describe the man in front of her. He had destroyed her career and was now in front of her three years later, asking! “What makes you think I’ll agree to your request?” Rowan looked at her amused. Had this girl forgotten who he was? A cunning smile adorned his lips as he said. “You will help me. “ He said certainly as he made his way towards her . “I pulled in some strings. Tomorrow morning, you’ll receive a call from Parker’s record label. You are their newest dance recruit for his next singles.” “How?” With her eyebrows furrowed, she wondered how this man had been able to get her somewhere close to Zayn Parker. “I will do a lot more for you in the future. I just need you to help me convince Zayn Parker.” At that moment, he was barely inches away from her. They were both standing at the side of a dimly lit street. He could barely make out her features unless he got close to her. He could see her brown eyes with specks of green in them. She had long silky black hair that stopped at the top of her butt. Her curves were something that made watching her dance look more alluring. “What makes you think I can convince him?” She asked him breathlessly. She didn’t understand how a vicious man like him could affect her so much. “My darling, you can convince anybody.” Considering their height difference, he bent a little and whispered it in her ear. To him, that was a fact he had noticed years ago. She had an alluring charm to her despite coming from a family he hated. “In a single night, you convinced him with your videos, you convinced thousands of people to follow you. I am sure you will do the job perfectly well. “ He whispered the words like a caress against her skin. How he had gotten so close to her, Kya didn’t understand. She knew talking to a Levon or making a deal with one was a very bad idea. But the deal sounded too enticing to ignore. “Come, let’s have dinner someplace with lights.” He looked round the dimly lit street. This part of Los Angeles looked dangerous. “Alright.” Again, like a fool, she heard herself agree to have dinner with him. Minutes later, they were at a local bar. They had barely eaten anything edible before they had started drinking. A few drinks in, and Kya was already drunk. “I swear, I hate you!” She exclaimed. “Why?” Rowan wasn’t drunk . “Remember what you did three years ago? You drugged me in my waiting room and ruined my career!” She said accusingly before laughing and then, crying. “I didn’t know the drug I added to your drink was that strong. Trust me, I wouldn’t have added it if I knew.” He tried to explain to her. But,it seemed like she wasn’t listening. So, he took three glasses of alcohol to forget a little. What he didn’t expect was the alcohol to make him more talkative. “I didn’t mean to hurt you Kya. I just wanted to help you with the nerves.” That day, when he had visited her, she had been too nervous for the show. It was going to happen in fifteen minutes. He had slipped in a little bit of drug to help her. It didn’t know it would have a strong effect on her body. She had passed out immediately. And like always, he ran away from the consequences. “I trusted you!” She cried out. Rowan couldn’t bare to see her cry. “shhh… don’t cry.” Leaning close to her, he cupped her cheeks. He didn’t know what to do in that sort of situation. “Why?” She whispered. Their lips were almost touching. A tipsy Rowan was enticed by the sight of her lips. In a second, their lips met. That night, that was how a long, pleasurable night started. This time, after having a pleasurable one-night stand, he didn’t leave. He was too drunk to leave anyway. The following day, things had gone back to the way they were. Kya had woken up first and had left him alone in the tiny room they had slept in. She pretended like nothing happened and went about her day. After all, it was a foolish mistake. Later that morning, like that bastard had said, she received a call from Parker’s record label. She had been hired as a dancer for the next singles. She was so happy about that. Just after the call, she received a text from a private number. I HOPE WE CAN BE FRIENDS. Z. P. At first, she doubted it was really Zayn Parker. But seeing how he had helped her, she couldn’t doubt it for too long. Rowan’s deal echoed at the back of her mind. But she shoved it aside. She was going to do whatever she wanted. Sleeping with him didn’t mean she had to agree to his deal. When she gets enough money from her new job, his deal won’t matter. Besides, she was going to start afresh as a dancer. This time, she wouldn’t let Rowan destroy her career. If only she knew she was already pregnant for him?
