Jade knew she lied to her mother all the time. She knew it was always little stuff that wouldn't actually bother her mom if she knew. Like she has school soon, or I have work soon, but sometimes talking about things with her mom made her have over-bearing feelings. Like this morning she was seething. She had been right there. Right there behind Jade. Before being grabbed, watching people including her mommy, get killed. Being forced into a car with strange men. She winced. The girl was 5. How could men do such a.. a thing.. "Men are monsters" I said to her. silence was broken with, "Who.. was that?" She started to panic, then remembered what her mom said. "It will be okay..." Her tight chest breathed in and out for what seemed like a matter of 5 minutes before continuing to get ready She has a doctor's appointment after school to help with her feelings, she will tell them about the voice. She just had to make it through today. She got up and went to the bathroom and for a second a smile showed her pearly white smile. she brushed her teeth. She looked at her lengthy tan arms, and her long ashy curls, and thought. 'Why am I still single, even if some men are terrible not all men are. Right?' She felt guilty how could a part of her actually think that men are monsters. but at the same time.. some men are she argued. She felt the need to wash and moisturize again after her sweaty run and add some shimmery highlight to her already rouged cheeks. She then added some deep brown mascara to complement her grey eyes. Jade looked at the freckles that lay upon her nose, chiseled cheekbones, and forehead. Her unmistakenly dark wide mole across her forehead made her feel small. Roughly bigger than a quarter. Doctors used to think it was dangerous, she remembered, it was non-cancerous though. She felt a tad embarrassed about it, but it was something she has always had ever since she was born. Her mother used to tell her angels kissed her forehead and sent her down to Earth. She checked her phone. It was 5:42 and she needed to get dressed for school. She put on her olive green Reebok Leggings that hugged her curves just right, with the matching shirt and brought a jean jacket in case they had the AC cranked too high at school. She spritzed a bit of perfume on it was sweet with coconutty floral scents. *VVVT * VVVT* She had an unknown number text her. It read, "Looking forward to working with you Jade! I hope you don't get too frustrated with me since you'll be training me." She didn't have time to respond so she put her socks and black Adidas on grabbed her bag, and locked up her apartment, making sure to bring the rest of her smoothie she had popped into the fridge before her run. She did a run through. Wallet, ID, keys, phone textbooks, notebooks, pens, pencils. Yes! She has everything in one go, for once. She pulled her bike from the garage and started it up. She put on her helmet and felt the bike purr beneath her. This was her pride and joy Harley. She loved how it made her feel riding with the wind in her hair. Before she knew it, she was on campus. Some people were walking, some riding bicycles. Others were even standing and making out, as if they didn't have anywhere else to do that, or anywhere else to be. She checked her watch and it was already 6:40. Morning classes started in 10 minutes. She parked her motorcycle and charged towards the first floor entryway. Despite the horrible start today, she was determined to make good impressions.
