I couldn't sleep that night. My mind kept replaying Jacob's words, the letter from my mother, the revelation of a brother I never knew existed. Franklin. Even his name felt strange on my tongue as I said it.
Damian slept peacefully beside me, his arm wrapped protectively across my waist. each time I closed my eyes, I saw flashes of my past life
Around three in the morning, I carefully slipped out from under Damian's arm and padded to the window. The moon hung heavy in the sky, and the pull I felt toward it was growing stronger each day.
"Can't sleep?" Damian's voice, rough with sleep, startled me.
I turned to find him propped up on one elbow, watching me with concerned eyes. "Too many thoughts," I admitted.
He lifted the covers in invitation, and I returned to the warmth
