There were chocolates on my desk. Fancy, expensive chocolates that were in my favorite flavors from a brand so luxurious, I didn't know they existed, let alone pronounce their name.
I had recently learned that when Rafe was anxious or felt like something was going wrong, he felt that copious amounts of gifts were enough to fix the problem. Unfortunately, our problem couldn't be solved by sweets.
“I researched the brand, they're based in France, as in, can only be purchased IN France," Mia told me as she stuffed her face with chocolate. I was told it was quite delicious too.
We were in my office, yet again, on our lunch break as I hid from the company gossip. I was the talk of the building as I had yet another expensive gift on my desk.
