Ahsha
I looked at him. "What?" I asked. "I had a dream about her the night before the ball. She appeared with three generations of our grandmothers. I couldn't believe it at first. I just assumed it was a dream because it kept happening but if you're having them too-" He paused. "Maybe it's cause we're twins." He shrugged. "What did they say?" I asked. "They told me that I was destined to be with Veronica. And that we would bring out the best of each other and also the worst." I listened intently as he spoke. "Is that why you've just been so willing to accept all of this?" I asked. He nodded his head. "I figured if I was dreaming it was happening for a reason. So, I've tried to look at all of this as if our grandmothers are trying to guide us in the right direction." I looked at my toes before I spoke. "How many times have you seen them?" I asked. "3 times. What about you?" he asked. "I've only seen them twice and the second time I only saw nana and grandma Marie." I paused. "But during the second time, there was someone else... he called me his mate," I said.
"Was it Dominic?" he asked sitting up. "I have no idea. I've never seen him before, but he said we'll meet again." I explained looking at my brother. "Then there's the talk about the whole mating business. I was finally getting on board with this new life but there so much-" I paused. "I hear you. After you left, they said because I'm human when Veronica and I mate I'll become terribly sick and it's mostly like the bond forming between us but I'm willing to go through all of that to be with her." He said staring at the ceiling. "Maybe if you got to know Malik, spent time with him the idea of mating wouldn't feel so scary." He said.
I looked at him surprised. "I don't want to become consumed with him or this world," I said looking pulling my knees to my chest. "Everyone we've met since coming here has been thoroughly consumed by this world. I don't want that to be me, or us but-" I paused. "But?" Isa asked. "But it's already happening," I said before we both fell silent.
Malik
I had spent the past month learning as much as I could about Ahsha. I had learned that she loved children, animals, and gardening. She either voices her thoughts out loud or she sinks into them and falls silent. However, my favorite thing to do with Ahsha is to watch tv. Whether that be a movie or a show, Ahsha is so animated when watching anything it made the show that more entertaining. "Why do you like this show?" I asked Ahsha and I watched what had to be the eighth episode of Law and Order: SVU today. "Because it's a good show." She said. I chuckled at how her eyes never left the tv as she pressed closer into me. I honestly didn't care what show we watched just being here with her was enough for me. I found my fingers laced through her curly hair massaging her scalp when my phone started ringing. I looked to see it was my father. "My dad's calling," I said sighing. "You can answer it." She said as she sat up. I pulled her back against me. "Stay," I said as I answered the phone.
"Yes?" I said into the phone. "I've given you the time you asked for." He said causing me to sigh again. Ahsha glanced up at me but stayed quiet. I moved the phone from my mouth before looking at her. "I'll be back," I said kissing her knuckle. I stepped out on to my balcony before continuing my conversation. "I understand what you're saying but I need more time. I don't want to force her." I said. "It's been almost three months since you met her. The next full moon is coming up. If you haven't mated by then you know what will happen." He said. I groaned quietly pinching the bridge of my nose. "Of course, there's a full moon," I mumbled.
"I'll talk to Ahsha about it but I won't push her," I said. "Very well. We'll deal with whatever occurs." My dad said. "Also, I know you've been focusing on your relationship with Ahsha, but you have responsibilities. You are in charge now. I expect to see you in my office tomorrow." He said. "Yes, sir," I said before we said our goodbyes and hung up. "How much did you hear?" I asked looking out at the distance. "Enough to know you were talking about me, so what happened now?" Ahsha asked. I turned and looked at her. I was so mesmerized at how beautiful she looked, even in just pajama bottoms and a t-shirt. "Is it bad?" She asked worry began to set in across her face. "As you know during the red moon, I took over my father's business. However, my father has been giving me time to be with you." I paused leaning against the railing. "But there is a full moon coming up." "A full moon?" She asked as she came and stood next to me. "It's similar to the blood moon where Ares will be in control the only difference is that Dominic will also be present," I explained.
"Because it's been so long since the three of us were together on a full moon I can't tell you what to expect. All I can tell you is that you will be the only thing on their mind," I tried to explain in a way as not to scare her. "Getting to you will be the only thing that will calm them," I said my voice growing harsher when I felt her grab my hand. I looked at her seeing her eyes meet mine. "What?" I asked turning to look at her. "Is it difficult for you?" She asked. "What?" "This. Us. Not having me the way you want." I looked at her unable to speak. "I only ask cause as you were talking your eyes-." She paused. "There were flashes of red and black in them." She said. "It's not the easiest but it's fine as long as your comfortable," I said. "And what about Ares and Dominic?" She asked. I could feel Ares and Dominic wanted to come forward, so I let them.
Omniscient
Ares and Dominic watched as she stood backing away from us. "Do we scare you?" The two asked. Ares was amused at the scent of fear that came from their mate. Dominic wanted to comfort her but found the scent intoxicating as well. "No, you just look different." She said as she looked at them. They took a step towards her before cupping her face. "We don't want to hurt you so when the full moon is near we will be distancing ourselves. We will be leaving until the moon passes," They said. "If what Malik said is true then wouldn't it be better to be with each other." She said. What she said was true but if they were near her they would feel the overwhelming urge to mate her. They looked at her seeing a sparkle shining in her eye enticing them. Ares and Dominic had only seen this look from afar but to see it up close their desire for her grew. Malik hummed in agreement. "Don't look at us like that," They said taking a step back from her. She tilted her head confused. "Like what?" She asks unaware of the storm of emotions simmering within them.
"Can I ask y'all something?" She said. They looked at her. "We're listening," They said wanting her to continue talking. "Is it normal to have dreams about your mate?" She asked them. "Yes. Have you?" Dominic and Ares asked. "Yes-well I mean, maybe. I'm not really sure." She stammered. "Relax, okay." The tried to comfort. "Just tell me what happened?" They said. "Well this man appeared in my dreams said he was my mate, but that can't be, right? I can't have four mates?" She said. Malik, Dominic, and Ares all knew what that meant but rather than worry Ahsha they chose to calm her. "Maybe the man was just someone you saw and you use him as a filler. I wouldn't think too much into it, okay." They said. She nodded her head.
"Can I ask one more thing?" She asked. "Anything," They said. "I've been thinking about this whole mate situation." She said piquing their curiosity.
"I've been in heat for almost three months now and every day it gets harder to ignore the feelings I have for you- for all of you." She said. "What exactly are you saying? You need to be specific." They said needing to hear where she was going. "I don't think I'm ready for you to mark me." She said knocking the wind out of them. "But I want more." She said. "More?" They asked. "We can-" "No," Dominic said coming forward. "No?" She looked up at him.
"You're not ready." He said. "But-" "No and please don't think that we don't want you, because we do," Dominic said. He cupped her chin raising her head. "We want you more than you could know but rushing this-us." He paused. "We're going at your pace, so when you're ready we'll be here," Dominic said. "Okay." She said nodding her head.
Ahsha
Six weeks had flown by and it was the night of the full moon. True to his word for the past week I hadn't spoken directly to Malik at all. I didn't think I would miss him as much as I am. I found myself having more and more dreams about Malik, Ares, and Dominic. They felt so real some nights it felt as if I could really feel their touches. The effects of not being near Malik were making an appearance. My body was beginning to heat up again and I was starting to crave his touch.
"It's only going to intensify the closer the full moon approaches." My mom said. I assumed that Malik could feel the effects of what happening to me because he sent over some clothes drenched in his scent. Which helped at first, but now with the night of the full moon upon us; I found myself curled up in bed drenched in sweat, and yet I was freezing. As the hours ticked by the effects of the moon grew.
There was only about an hour until the moon would be at its peak when a loud horrific growl crackled through the night sky. "What the hell?" I whispered. I looked out at my window to see the moon sitting high and shining brightly down on me. I heard several heavy footsteps rushing upstairs when my door swung open. I looked to see my family looking at me worried. "Ahsha." I heard a faint whisper say as a soft moan slipped past my lips. I looked around the room for the person who spoke. "Yes?" I asked causing them all to look at me worried. "Come to me." The seductive voice called again making me shiver. "Mama look at her eyes," Isa said. "Come to me, my love." I whimpered softly squeezing my eyes shut. "Open your eyes." the voice said but I couldn't I was scared. "Open your eyes, my sweet mate." The voice said right next to my ear. I slowly cracked my eyes open to see a pair of black eyes staring at me.
I looked around the room to see candles sitting all around the room. I turned back to Ares or Dominic I wasn't sure which, but they had yet to take their eyes off me. He walked towards me causing me to back up until I hit the dresser. He smiled down at me before he gripped my throat gently. They hummed pressing their nose into the bend of my neck. "We've missed you, habitata." They said before meeting my eye with a large smile spread across their face. I shivered as I was scooped up into their arms. They walked over to the bed sitting down with my sitting on their lap. Their large hand gripped my waist holding me close. I struggled a little only stopping when they spoke, "Please-just be here." They pleaded. I looked down at their face locking eyes with them. It was silence between us before he leaned into me meeting my lips.
