“Who do you say is our new investor?” I asked, softly tapping my fingers on the desk with. I rotated in my chair to face Derek, who stood before me with a file in his hand.
“Tell me more about this investor? What company does she work in? It’s the first time we’d be having a female investor in our company, Derek. How did you get to meet her?” I asked once again, my voice sharp as it cut through the heavy silence that now filled the space between us.
Just as he was about to speak, a knock came on the door, grabbing our attention.
“Who is it?” I asked with pinched brows, a stoic expression on my face.
