CHAPTER TWELVE SHE WAS RIGHT. The night was a total bust, as was the night after that. She would start out thinking of Jared and, somewhere during her centering exercise, images of Derek would barge in and steal her attention. It became so frustrating to her that at one point she growled and broke Jasmine and Amber’s concentration. Amber had not been pleased. She couldn’t blame the witch. She wasn’t pleased, either, but what could she do? How was she supposed to get a man out of her head who wasn’t even supposed to be there in the first place? Kelly poured herself a cup of coffee and then sat at her dining room table, her hands wrapped around the steaming mug as she stared at an old painting on the wall across from her.
