The crowds of people scattered in a rampage, each more panicked then the next. I moved quickly across the floor, finding myself heading straight for the lacrosse section where I’d left Allison rather than towards the gunman opening fire. As I approached the group of them, I caught Kyle’s eyes for a moment across the shelves and he briefly nodded his head. He was sticking with Allison and Joey, and that was all I needed to know. I spun on my heel, heading straight for the gunman now. I wanted to get this over with as fast as possible, like always. Having Allison so close today though, made the urgency all the more important though. This was all too similar to what had happened at the diner not too long ago, and I wasn’t ready to repeat that any time soon. Seriously, what were the chances?
