*Emerson*
"Whose powdered bones are those?" Winter crinkled her nose in disgust. "Achily," I repeated. "Achily who?" Gustin asked. "Achily is the former King of the Sun Kingdom," I said. "How did he die?" Ashten asked. Neil, Austin, Aaron, and I looked at Luthanion. "What? My King ordered me. And he died like a warrior. With pride. So, don't judge me." Luthanion said, crossing his hands. His tail and beast are hidden from everyone. Jacob used Amily flower on him. Yes. To take out the true face, we need Achily's bone dust, and to hide the true face, we need Amily Flower. " How did you kill him?" Winter asked, furrowing her brows. Her cheeks are pale, and her eyes puffy. She had been crying. " We fought." Luthanion shrugged. "And you won? Against a King?" Winter asked, her eyes widening in the process. Luthanion nodded, smirking. She shook her head, gaping at him. " Back to the plan. Jacob said that we should spy on them first. And see what their powers are. And Ashten, Are the weapons ready?" I asked. "Almost ready," Ashten answered. " We will need those. First, find all the bars, clubs, and other parties. Any party, where there are people, drinks, and music. We have been informed that the demons are where there are many people." I said. Ashten, Gustin, and Winter got to work.
After a while, they gave us a whole lot of names of the places where parties are held and other clubs and bars. "Okay. I think we shouldn't bring Isaac with us. He should stay here. In Winter's apartment. He will be safe. And one of us will stay with them, all the time." I said. Everyone agreed. Winter called Isaac and told him to come to her apartment while We decided who will go where. So, the search started. Surprisingly, Winter agreed to stay home with Isaac and Austin. She didn't argue this time. I think she doesn't want to cause trouble now that Rose is missing and might be in trouble after we attempted to betray Trevor. She wants us to focus on Rose. Winter smiled at me tightly when we were leaving. So, It proves everything Perfectly. She wants to go but is restraining herself. I saluted her, and we were on our path.
Neil and I were sitting in a club, where there were sweaty and drunken people on the dance floor. " Are you okay? I asked Neil. "Yeah." He said. I nodded, though I knew he wasn't. How could he? He met with the one demon who tried to destroy him because he was jealous of Neil. Neil was a demon. But Jacob saw him worthy and offered him to enter our realm. His memories vanished, and he became one of us. But later we came to know that Neil's friend, Orgaan, also wanted to join us. But Jacob didn't think he was ready. Orgaan got jealous of Neil and accused him of betraying his only friend. And then tried to destroy him. I saved him with Vincent's help. That's how we captured Orgaan. And now he is in Prison. But I think he has changed a lot. He really could have stayed silent. But he told us. Now, we will get to see if what he said is true or not. Neil nudged me. I looked in the direction he was looking at. I saw a man in his 30s. He was sitting on a couch with a girl on his lap, kissing his neck. " He is a demon," Neil whispered. Yes. He definitely is. We blew Achily's bone dust in the entire club tonight. Hence, We were able to see his true face. He has remarkably turned himself into a human being. Thanks to Jacob. Without Achily's bone dust, we wouldn't have been able to see their real face. "Yes. Don't do anything. Just keep an eye out for him. While I search for others." I whispered back. We were hidden by some curtains to make sure that the demons don't see us. After a while, a lot of men and women came out of a room. And they were all demons. I would have sucked in a breath if damned souls could do that. Because they were a lot. All of them called the man with whom the girl was sitting. The man went with them. Or rather the demon went with them. To another big couch where they were talking. " I think we should inform The King of the demons. He will do everything in his power to make them behave." I said to Neil. " And how might we do that, Em?" Neil asked dramatically. " You are right," I sighed. Jacob and the King of the Demons don't go well. In fact, no other realms like The King of the demons. So, he won't listen to us. No matter what we do. The idea is useless. " Can't we go any closer?" I asked. "We can... but we have to separate," Neil said, pointing at the broad pillars, which were close enough to the couch so that we could listen, and they won't see us. I nodded at him. So, we separated and hid behind the pillars. The demons were talking about nothing interesting. They were just hanging out.
After listening in on the demons and not finding anything out, we left.
"What did you find?" Winter asked as soon as we entered the apartment. Others weren't here. No one returned still. Did we leave that fast? " Nothing," I said, flopping on the sofa. Winter sat beside me the smell of almonds and honey filled my nose. Thanks to Jacob that I was given these liberties. Not many of the damned souls are given these abilities. They have to earn these, nowadays. Neil, Austin, and Aaron got theirs when I told Jacob they were working with me. So, they have these too. " I am worried about her." Winter's sad voice pained my heart. I wish I could hug her and say, "Everything's alright, but I can't, so I just said, "We will find her. Soon." " I know. I am just wondering what are they doing to her? Is she alone? Or are they torturing her because We betrayed Trevor?" She asked some questions. Her shoulders slumped after realizing that we don't know anything yet. " I don't know, Winter. I hope not. But the plan was brilliant. We didn't get Rose but the plan was great." I said. Winter sighed. " Didn't you find anything? Nothing of use?" She changed the subject. " No. But we did find that there was a room from where the demons came out. A lot of demons. A group of six." I replied. Winter straightened a bit at that. " Maybe they have kept Rose there," Winter said with hope. " We are not sure We can not risk striking now, it will harm her more, and the demons will be alert. We won't have the element of surprise then. So, we should wait till We are sure. " I said. The light in her eyes went out. So I said," But Neil, and I will go afterward to look at the room. I don't think they're hiding her there. But I will check." I said. Winter smiled, which didn't reach her eyes, and nodded. " Thank you. For helping me." Winter said. " I am your friend, Winter. It's my duty to help you." I replied. She smiled breathtakingly, which made me realize that I want her to be more. I want US to be more. Then, Ashten and Aaron walked through the door, and her focus obviously shifted to him. "Ash!"She stood from the couch. I painfully turned to look at them. She hugged him with so much love. " Did you find anything?" She asked him. "No. But We saw some demons hanging out there." Ashten replied. " Yeah. We blew the dust all over the club, so we were able to recognize them. Man, they are great at this ability." Aaron turned to me and said. I nodded. " That they are. But we still have to follow them and not attack. We have to know what are they doing there. And we also have to know whether Rose is there or not." I said. Everyone agreed. At least now we are sure there are demons in the club. We just have to follow them some more. After a while, Gustin and Luthanion appeared. They were the last group. And by looking at their faces, it was clear they did find something. "We found Trevor's hiding place," Luthanion spoke first. Wow. They make really great partners. " Where?" I asked. " Londra's place," Gustin said turning his head to look at Winter and Ashten. I think they know that place."Where was Londra?" Winter asked. "Dead." Gustin's wary voice filled the room.
*Winter*
No one found anything. I was anxious. But then Gustin, and Luthanion came. DEAD. Londra was dead. " Who is Londra?" Emerson asked, frowning. "She is my apartment's owner," I replied. But DEAD. It was ringing in my ears. I sat on the couch slowly. We weren't that close but She always sent me flowers and free drinks. She was busy with the club that's why she couldn't come. She was my Meemaw's fan. She was devastated that Meemaw died. But now SHE is dead. We weren't close but we were forming a bond. " How?" My lips trembled. Ashten held me in his arms, and I laid my head on his chest. " Some were saying that she was murdered. And some were saying it was a car accident. But no one knows how it happened and who did it." Gustin replied. " You think that maybe?" I looked at Emerson. " They could." He replied. I closed my eyes tightly. A person close to me. DEAD. Again. Ashten hugged me to keep me from shaking. "And where was Trevor?" I heard Emerson ask. " He was in a room. And then he came out with others, in their demon form. And then sat at a reserved table to play cards. And a human was with them. I think he knows that they are demons. Which was strange." Gustin said. "It isn't strange, the human was intrigued with the concept of demons, and if he knows about them that means he will willingly give his soul," Neil said. The other damned souls nodded to confirm it. "So, now what?" Austin asked. " Now, We go there. Luthanion and I will go there. And others will go to different places. Maybe Rose isn't there. Maybe he hid her somewhere else." Emerson said. " I want to go with you." Isaac came down the stairs. "No." Emerson rejected his request. I was in Isaac's place once. Isaac stood his ground. "I will go. Rose is my girlfriend." Isaac said. And then he was thrown away. By Gustin. "IF she was your girlfriend, why couldn't you protect her? Where were you?" Gustin growled. Ashten rushed to Gustin's side as no one else other than him can calm Gustin down. "Gus, Calm down," Ash said, holding his friend back. " We can not fight now. We need to and Rose, She is your priority. OUR priority." Emerson said, standing before Gustin. And slowly, Gustin moved back. The room was so silent that I could hear Gustine's shallow breath. Ashten went to Isaac to help him get up. " You shouldn't have come downstairs," Ashten said to Isaac. " But I want to. I want to get her back. It's all my fault. MY brother did this." Isaac whimpered and said. "You can't go, Isaac. Simply because Trevor might see you. You are his brother. He might smell you out." Emerson said softly. " Maybe we can use him as bait. Again." Neil suggested. I shook my head. "No. No. We are not going to do that. Trevor might understand." I protested, standing up from the couch. But Neil didn't back down. "Trevor still might believe Isaac. If we play it right." Neil said with determination. And his eager eyes met mine with certainty.
