We reached Isaac's house when the clock struck 12. Ashten banged on Isaac's door. Some muffled curses were heard from inside the room. Then it opened and revealed just the person we were looking for. I gripped his collar, and said, "They took Rose." Ashten pulled me back as his eyes widened. And then he noticed Emerson. " We need to talk, Isaac. Bout your bother. " Emerson said. Isaac got out of his trance and nodded grimly.
" Your brother kidn*pped Rose," Ashten informed. Isaac's head snapped towards them." Trevor kidn*pped her?" He frowned at them." Yes. Your brother thinks you are in love with her, which you are clearly not. So, tell your brother that he has mistaken, and tell him to give Rose back. " I shouted at Isaac. "It's my fault. I discussed with him about Rose. I told him about her. How she is so special. It's my fault." Isaac said, hiding his face with his hands. " Why would you say that? If she would have been special to you, you wouldn't have been marrying another girl." Winter snapped at him. Isaac frowned at me. Then his eyes widened. "Rose thinks I don't like her. She must have seen the news." He whispered. "Not that. She knew before that. Your father told her, as you are a coward who cannot even talk to the girl whom he is dumping." "What? I didn't dump Rose. I just couldn't get any time to talk to her. To explain her." " Oh please. Your father said enough. Also, don't pretend that you didn't know because you were there when he told Rose all of that." "No. I wasn't. I don't know what he said." Isaac said. I stopped. "You are lying. Rose told me that your father said you don't want to talk to her. And you were there that time." Now, it was my turn to frown. " No. That never happened. And the girl that the news reporters are showing is my friend. We have made a deal. To pretend that we have accepted what our fathers have decided for us until we both get their company. "Isaac said. I froze. "Wait. Rose thinks that I am going to marry her?" He asked, his brows creasing. "Yes, You dummy. You should have told her about your deal first." I said. "I didn't get the time to do so. I was busy with work. But I was going to. Soon." Isaac sighed, slightly pulling his hair with both of his hands. "You are right. It's all your fault." I said, turning around. "Winter, Focus." Ashten said. I looked at him and sighed. "Isaac, We want you to call your brother, and tell him to give Rose back," Emerson said. "He doesn't listen to my calls," Isaac said. "This time he will," Ashten said with determination clear in his eyes. "What does he want from you, Isaac?" I asked. Isaac looked at me with his emotionless eyes. "My soul." He said. I scowled. "What? Your own brother wants that from you?" Ashten asked. Isaac nodded. "Trevor has turned full demon. He has no emotions. So, it is justifiable." Emerson said, crossing his hands. "What more did he tell you?" Ashten asked. "He wants me to sell my soul to The Kingmas. Then, He will appoint me to be his left hand." "Who is his right?" Ashten asked. "Trevor." Emerson said. Isaac's bangs fell over his eyes as he nodded very eagerly. "We need a bigger plan." Emerson ran his hand through his hair as he looked around the room. " I think I know what to do." I grabbed their attention.
Isaac was seated on the floor, in an empty room, within two circles that collided with each other at the centre. Candles were there, surrounding him. He concentrated on his breath and then chanted. "Trevor, I need you. Answer my call." "Trevor, I need you. Answer my call." Trevor, I need you to answer my call." Then he waited. Tick. Tick. Tick. Candlelight went out. Then the demon appeared. He was burning red, not like Emerson's calm blue. His grin was feral, and his eyes gleamed with wickedness. His black hair made him almost look like Isaac, but his dark eyes looked like an endless pit of misery. "Brother." Isaac acknowledged. " Have you decided to give your soul to The Kingmas?" Trevor asked, raising his brow. "Yes. But I need to talk to you first." Isaac pleaded. "I don't have time to talk, Brother." Trevor spat the word, "Brother". "I need to know if you are still there, Trevor," Isaac said, his eyes solely on Trevor. " It's me. Why do you ask?" Trevor smiled. "Then why did you take Rose?" Isaac asked. "It's nothing personal. I need you to give your soul to The Kingmas. That's all. Give me what I want, and I'll give you what you want," Trevor said, putting his hands in his pockets. "I just want to know if she is safe." " She is safe." "I want to see her with my eyes," Isaac said. Trevor sighed impatiently. "Fine." Then he clapped his hands three times and Rose appeared with two damned souls holding her. " Isaac," Rose whispered, her eyes widening. " Rose, Are you okay?" Isaac asked. "I am fine." Rose smiled tightly. Isaac turned to Trevor. "Give me Rose, and I'll give you my soul. You can take it," Isaac said, picking up the knife from his side. Trevor motioned the evil damned souls to let Rose go. They shoved Rose towards Isaac but out of the circle. Then, as planned, Emerson, Neil, and Austin appeared behind them. Emerson took hold of Trevor. Neil and Austin held the other damned souls. I ran towards Rose and hugged her. Ashten, Gustin, and Aaron appeared. Ashten hid me behind him, and I hid Rose behind me. Emerson turned Trevor to him, and sneered "Who are you working for?" Trevor grinned amusingly. " Who are you working for?" Emerson repeated. Trevor didn't say anything to him, he turned to his brother, and clicked his tongue. "You betrayed The Kingmas, Isaac. He will not leave you alone. You are a fool to side with them," Trevor said with disgust. " You are a fool to sell your soul to someone else," Isaac shouted, getting up from his place. " I am his right hand, Isaac. I was nothing in real life," Trevor said, sternly. " You were everything to me, Brother. You were the one I always tried to protect. You were the one who kept me sane. How could you leave me alone?" Isaac asked, his eyes welling up with tears. I could swear I saw Trevor flinch but he covered it up quickly, and spat, "I am happy and proud being The Kingmas's right hand." Emerson held his collar tightly. " Tell me your Kingmas's name." Emerson sneered. "I won't. And now, you all made it worse. You will never find Rose. " Trevor's laugh boomed in the entire apartment. I think my neighbours heard the laugh of this evil poop, too. Wait. What did he say? We won't find Rose? "What are you talking about? She is here." I said, frowning. "Look again." Trevor smiled, wickedly. Everyone slowly looked in Rose's direction. I stepped aside and gasped. A red-coloured girl, A demon was waving at us with a smile. " Where is Rose?" Isaac shouted at Trevor." You will never find out," Trevor smirked. And then they all just vanished. "No. No. I had him," Emerson said, his wide eyes looking at his hands, which weren't holding Trevor anymore. " Damn it," I shouted. Ashten held me firmly. "Hey. Hey. We will find her." He said. "How? He said we will never find her. And that we have made everything worse. What if they torture Rose now? Because of me?" I asked. My throat was aching, the tears I tried to hold poured down shamelessly. And I couldn't do anything. Just like how I cannot do anything about Rose. "It's not your fault, Winter. At least you came up with something. We had nothing otherwise. " Ashten said, "We still have nothing." Emerson muttered. "We don't have Rose, and We don't know who The Kingmas is." Austin said. "We also don't have Trevor here." Neil pointed out. Emerson exhaled loudly and bit his lower lip.
After our failure, we all sat and tried to come up with something. How to rescue Rose, how to find who the Kingmas is, or how to even catch Trevor. "Trevor won't trust Isaac anymore. We cannot use him." Emerson said. Everyone agreed. " But how did they make the demon look like Rose?" I asked. "I have never heard of demons who could do that," Emerson confessed. "I think it's The Kingmas's one of many tricks," Neil said. I nodded. " Who is this guy? How can he do those things?" Emerson frowned at his hands, which still didn't have Trevor in their hold. " We have to come up with something. Does anyone have any ideas?" I asked, looking at everyone expectantly. Silence. "I am worried about Rose," I murmured. " Where can they hide her?" Ashten asked, rubbing my right arm gently. " We don't know anyone who is a demon. So, we cannot ask." Emerson said. "Uh. Emerson. I think you're forgetting about someone." Neil reminded Emerson. Emerson gave it a thought, then gasped softly. "No. He won't tell us anything. And he is especially contained. He is a maniac, Did you forget that?" Emerson asked, looking at Neil like he struck him. "How could I? He tried to destroy me." Neil said. " We can at least try," Austin said. Emerson nodded slowly. "I will talk with Jacob. See what he has to say." Emerson said. "Can't he come here? We need him here." I said. "No. The throne can't be left empty. It will cause all the souls to go astray. It is dangerous." Aaron said. I sighed, flopping on my sofa. " I should talk to Jacob. I'll be back. Neil, You want to go?" Emerson asked, to which Neil nodded. " You two stay here and protect Isaac. I think Trevor might come to take revenge or something." Emerson said to Austin and Aaron. They both nodded. With that Emerson, and Neil left for the damned souls realm. Ashten, Gustin, and I went to Rose's house, to inform her parents.
Opening the door, Aunt Annie asked, "Did you rescue her?" I sadly shook my head. Uncle Gerald soon appeared to take his wife back to the room. " We are sorry, Aunt Annie. We will keep trying." I said quietly. Aunt Annie nodded, weeping, her head on Uncle Gerald's chest. "Thank you for risking your lives to find Rose." Uncle Gerald said, with thick emotions, and a small smile. "She is my best friend, Uncle," I said. "I know. Still. " Uncle Gerald smiled tightly. I nodded. " I will let you know when we find her," I said. Aunt Annie looked up at me, and said, "Please hurry, Winter." I nodded, biting my lip.
In my apartment, Ashten, and I was sleeping together. He decided to not leave me alone, and I didn't mind. "We will find her, Winter." He said, rubbing my arm. "I hope so," I whispered. " Be strong for Rose, Winter," Ashten said. " I am trying." And with that, tears poured from my eyes. " We will find her. We will find her." Ashten kept repeating, to reassure me, and himself.
*Gustin*
I flopped on a chair, with a water bottle in my hand. I have to stay sober. I can't let myself drown in grief or alcohol. I might be needed anytime. I don't know how is she or even if she is alive. No. She has to be alive. She has to. I can't bear the thought of her dying. Please, Rose. Be safe. Please.
