Chapter Four

Young Adrian: Hey, how’s it going?

Young Adrian spoke shyly.

Young Adrian thought:

“I knew I was risking so much when I took that leap of faith. But my intrigue in Brie had me all in. I don’t know what I’d call it, whether destiny or a divine being-but deep down in my heart, it felt right.”

Young Brie: Oh, hi!

Young Brie waved at him.

Young Brie: Adrian, right?

Young Adrian: Yeah. You remembered?

Young Brie: Of course.

She blushed.

Olivia: I’ma go poop. Be right back.

Young Brie: Sorry about that.

She looked at Young Adrian, clearly embarrassed by her friend’s words.

Young Brie: She tends to blurt things out sometimes.

Young Adrian let out a light laugh.

Young Adrian: Don’t worry about it.

Young Brie moved a little closer to him.

Young Brie: So, what’s up? What do I owe your presence to?

Young Adrian thought:

“!!! She got closer to me.”

Young Adrian: Oh, I just saw you and thought I’d say hi. See how you’re doing.

Young Brie: Oh. That’s nice of you. I’m good. I hope all is well with you too.

Young Adrian: Yeah, it is. Hey, can I ask you a question?

Young Brie: Sure.

Young Adrian: You seem like you’d know what to do in a situation like this. There’s this girl that I think is cute, and I want to get to know her better. But she has a boyfriend. I don’t want to get in between their relationship or cause drama. Y’know? What do you think I should do?

Young Brie: I mean, just tell her. Maybe she feels the same way about you. You never know.

Young Adrian: I hear you. I’ll take you up on that advice. Thanks.

He took a deep breath.

Young Adrian: I know you have a boyfriend and all, but I think you’re so gorgeous and you do something to my heart.

Young Brie was left shocked and speechless.

Young Adrian: I can’t really explain it. I hope we can become really good friends in the future.

Young Brie: Adrian, I’m really flattered, but—

Young Adrian interrupted her.

Young Adrian: Hey, don’t worry! I understand. I just needed to get that off my chest.

He took another deep breath.

Young Adrian: I’ll see you around, okay?

They both waved at each other before he left.

A MOMENT LATER…

From behind Brie, Olivia immediately appeared.

Olivia: Soooooo… Who was that?

She winked at Brie.

Young Brie: His name is Adrian. I met him the other day.

Olivia: I don’t know, but he seemed pretty interested in you. If you know what I mean.

Young Brie: Olivia, you know I just broke up with my boyfriend. It’s too soon to even think about another person like that.

Olivia: Girl, you’re allowed to move on. And plus, that guy is a damn snack.

Young Brie: Yeah, he seems nice and all, but I don’t know him like that.

Olivia: Well, get to know him. I literally just saw how you two talked. It seemed so natural. Sooooo… effortless in the way you guys connect.

Brie took a deep breath.

Neither of them noticed that Brie’s ex-boyfriend was standing nearby. He had heard the entire conversation, and the anger on his face was unmistakable.

UNDER THE SCHOOL TREE…

Young Brie: I envy your eyes, MacMahon. They’re the most beautiful color I’ve ever seen.

Young Adrian: Nah, that would be all you.

He leaned one hand against the tree.

Young Adrian: I could stare at your eyes all day if I could. But that would make me creepy.

Brie laughed.

Young Brie: That definitely would.

Young Adrian: You’re so f***king cute. You know that? Gosh, I wanna kiss you so bad.

Young Adrian and Young Brie was locked in a kiss outside of their class. Young Adrian finally broke the kiss.

Young Adrian: You should get to class missy.

Young Brie: Well I'm sorry for helping out a friend who- Had an emergency.

They both burst into laughter..

Young Adrian: I did have an emergency. I missed you.

Young Brie: You're impossible.

Young Adrian: Hey, but atleast that was a great kiss we shared. I honestly can't get enough of you.

Young Brie: Sounds to me like you have a crush.

Young Adrian: Maybe I do. Or maybe I'm in love.

Brie became shocked and then angry. She stomped her feet on the floor.

Young Brie: Adrian, don't play with me like that!!

Young Adrian: I'm serious.

He took a deep breath.

Young Adrian: I love you Brie.

Brie started blushing at his word.

Young Adrian: All this time we have spent together has been like a dream to me. I've loved you since the moment we met. It's okay if you don't feel the same way-

Young Brie: I love you too silly. You're an amazing guy Adrian. You really are.

Young Adrian: Thank God. YES!!!

He said and jumped up like he won the lottery.

Young Adrian: Be mine? Be my girl for as long as I live.

Young Brie: I'd love to.

She said why blushing.

From behind them..

Raymond: Oh really?

They both turned to see who it was.

Raymond: Is that how you feel Brie?

He said why sounding angry.

Young Adrian: Lewve her alone bro. Get outta here.

Raymond: You think I'ma take orders from you lover boy?

He laughed so hard and then said angrily.

Raymond:BRIE IS MY GIRL!!!

Brie looking upset and irritated with what Raymond said.

Young Brie: It's over Raymond. You need to let go and move on.

Raymond: EASY FOR YOU TO SAY!! ARE YOU SERIOUSLY GONNA THROW OUR LOVE AWWY FOR THIS DOUCHE?!!!

He angrily said while pointing at Young Adrian.

Young Adrian: MAN F**K YOU!!

He voiced out angrily and moved towards Raymond and landed few blows to his face taking Raymond unaware.

Young Brie: Adrian STOP!!!

Young Adrian stopped immediately.

Young Adrain: Stay the f**K away from me and my girl! You hear me?

Raymond was already in serious pains and was struggling to stand up properly. Adrian and Brie walked away.

AT THE CAFETERIA…

Young Murphy: F**k, we’re old. Can you believe graduation is in three months?!

Young Brie: Time does fly.

Olivia: It sure as f**k does. How the hell am I graduating without having me a damn boyfriend?!

Young Murphy: I can be your boyfriend.

Olivia: It’s NEVER gonna happen, Murphy.

Brie and Adrian burst out laughing.

Young Murphy: I tried.

Olivia: Oh yes, you did. At least Adrian and Brie are gonna graduate as the high school sweethearts we all love.

She winked while Brie blushed.

Young Adrian: And she’ll be my sweetheart for the rest of my life.

Brie blushed again and leaned toward Adrian.

Young Brie: Love you.

Young Adrian: Love you more, baby.

WEDDING CEREMONY…

Priest: I pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride.

Adrian winked at Brie, who blushed beneath her veil.

He leaned toward her, and everyone erupted into applause.

BACK TO REALITY.

He took a deep breath and walked toward his office.

Later..

Imani: He wasn’t in his office. That’s odd.

Bianca: Yeah, but I got to have lunch an hour early, so I’m good. But I have a good feeling I’ma love working here. This just feels like a goddamn dream!

Imani: You deserve this opportunity, honey. Never forget that.

Bianca: I seriously can’t thank you enough.

Charlie walked toward them.

Charlie: Bianca, please report to Mr. Adrian’s office.

She nodded in acknowledgment.

Imani: You ready to get your game on?

Bianca: I’m actually nervous.

Imani: You’ll do fine. I’ve crossed a few words with Mr. Adrian, and he’s not that bad. Not gonna pretend like he isn’t the hottest thing in the world—but he’s actually not as superficial as you’d think he’d be.

Bianca: What if he fires me or something?! I can’t afford to lose another job!

She spoke in an anxious tone.

Imani: Bianca, stop!! You know you can do this! So go do this!!

Bianca took a deep breath.

Bianca: Alright. See you tonight.

She walked away toward Adrian’s office.

Imani: Love you, girly!

INSIDE ADRIAN’S OFFICE…

Adrian: Did you get his call?

Charlie: Of course, Mr. Adrian.

Bianca walked inside and greeted them confidently.

Bianca: Hello, everyone. Good morning. Mr. Adrian, my name is Bianca Smith. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, sir.

Adrian stared at her for a moment.

Adrian: Miss Smith, please call me Adrian. Welcome to MacMahon Enterprises. It’s a pleasure meeting you.

Bianca thought:

“His voice. His eyes. His dominant presence. All of it did something magical to me. My legs feel weak as I’m pierced through by his gaze. Imani was right. This man was simply more than his looks. He is soulfully alluring.”

Adrian: Charlie, can you give Miss Smith and me a moment to chat?

Charlie: Of course.

Adrian: Follow me, Miss Smith.

He stopped beside his office window.

Adrian: So, why do you want this job, Miss Smith?

Bianca: I—it’s my dream job, sir. I’m super grateful for this opportunity. I promise I will do my bes—

Adrian interrupted her.

Adrian: This company means a lot to me. My father started it when he was just nineteen years old. I’ve been fortunate enough to turn it into a multibillion-dollar company—alongside my wife.

Bianca thought:

“He’s married? Of course he is. Young, handsome, and rich. Lucky girl.”

Adrian: Your job is essential, Miss Smith. I’m gonna need you to give me 110 percent every day. Can you do that?

Bianca: Absolutely, sir.

Adrian laughed.

Adrian: Please, call me Adrian.

Bianca: Of course.

Adrian: Let’s talk about our trip to Malaysia that’s coming up, shall we? Follow me.

LATER THAT DAY…

INSIDE A COFFEE SHOP…

Brie sat across from Lolly, her expression troubled.

Brie: I really try, you know? But sometimes I doubt whether he really cares like he says he does. I never in a million years imagined Adrian would become who he is today. I feel like I don’t even know who he is sometimes.

Lolly: People change, and I guess that is the hardest part of marriage. Accepting a changing human can be tough. Or so I think. A b*tch has never been married.

Brie: It is, girl. I have spent ten years of my life with him, loving him through our ups and downs. But this is tearing us apart slowly.

Lolly: You guys will be fine. You two are like a match made in heaven, Brie. Nothing or no one could ever get in between Mr. and Mrs. MacMahon.

INSIDE ADRIAN’S OFFICE…

Adrian: You like that?

Adrian and Bianca were in their underwear while kissing each other.

Adrian: BIANCA!!!

Bianca: Of course!

Adrian laughed.

Adrian: Daydreaming already?

Bianca: Sorry, I’m just a little tired.

Adrian: Why don’t you head home? I’ll email you the information for Malay—

His phone rang, and he answered.

Adrian: Adrian MacMahon. Ahh, yes. They’re for my wife. Sure. The address is 10045 East—

Bianca’s attention immediately shifted.

Bianca thought:

“That’s his address?”

She brought out her phone and quickly wrote it down.

Adrian: Is it being delivered right now? Perfect. Thank you so much.

He ended the call.

Adrian: Sorry about that. I’ll be emailing you the information for the trip tonight.

Bianca: Sounds good.

Adrian waved at her before leaving.

Adrian: Have a good night, Miss Smith.

She waved back.

Bianca thought:

“I felt a scorching heat erupt within me. My body was tingling. It had been a while since a man’s presence alone could awaken such a lustful beast in me. And I was savoring it every second.”

Bianca: I’m such a skank.

She laughed out loud.

Bianca: I really need to get laid soon, though.

ADRIAN’S MANSION…

INSIDE HIS LIVING ROOM…

Adrian: You like them?

He was talking to Brie, who was staring at the flower bouquet that had been sent to her.

Brie turned toward him, looking sad.

Adrian: I got them just for you.

Brie: They’re beautiful. Thanks. But you shouldn’t have.

Adrian: Yes, I should have. I love you. And I’m sorry for not being the husband you deserve right now. I wanna fix this. I really do.

Brie’s expression remained troubled.

Brie: You’re breaking us, Adrian. Little by little.

Adrian: Tell me how to fix it, babe. I just want you to be happy.

Brie: I’m not ready to have a baby. Not right now, nor any time soon.

Adrian: Okay, but can we at least talk about it? Just tell me if I’m ever going to be a dad or not.

Brie: One day, Adrian. Just not right now.

They both took deep breaths.

Adrian: Tell me you love me, please.

Brie: I love you.

Adrian smiled.

Adrian: I love you more, baby. F**k, I needed that.

Brie: Let’s just forget about everything tonight, yeah?

Adrian: Okay, baby. Let’s go to bed.

They both walked out of the living room.

DING-DONG!

Adrian stopped.

Adrian: I got it, babe.

He walked toward the door and opened it.

Bianca was standing outside.

Adrian’s expression immediately changed to surprise.

Adrian: Miss Smith?

He stared at her, clearly caught off guard by her unexpected appearance at his home.

Adrian: Is everything alright?
