ALEX I open my eyes and close it again. The room is unbearably bright. “Finn?” I croak. My hand flies to my neck. It’s my vocal cord. My voice. “Are you okay?” I look around. I am surrounded by cameras and network bosses. “Y-yeah,” I answer, smiling. I grip the pen tight, signing on the familiar papers. I’m back. I’m finally back. Drops of tears blot the bottom of the paper, but I continue signing every spot where I see my name. I’m finally, really, Alex. Alex. Alex. I smiled through the tears.
