Episode 3: Distance Begins to Speak
Ethan left on a cloudy morning.
There were no dramatic promises, no loud goodbyes—just two people trying to act strong while their hearts were breaking quietly. Lily stood at the doorway of their shared home, watching him carry his bag like he was carrying a piece of her with him.
“I’ll call you when I arrive,” Ethan said, forcing a smile.
Lily nodded. “Don’t forget me.”
He almost laughed at that, but it caught in his throat. “I could never.”
And then he was gone.
At first, they tried. Daily calls, short messages, voice notes filled with updates that slowly became less frequent. Life in two different cities began to swallow their routine. Ethan got busy with work. Lily tried to stay busy too, but silence always found her at night.
One missed call turned into two. Two turned into a day. Then days.
“I’ve been busy,” Ethan would say.
“I understand,” Lily would reply, even when she didn’t fully.
The conversations that once flowed easily now felt forced, like they were trying to hold onto something slipping through their fingers.
One evening, Lily sat by the window staring at her phone, waiting for a message that didn’t come.
Across the city, Ethan did the same.
Neither of them knew it yet, but love wasn’t disappearing…
It was slowly getting lost in the space between them.but I thought love is supposed to be beautiful, why did distance have be become a gap ,
