Chapter 1

853 Words
Lion City is entering the beginning of summer with the most beautiful rays of sunshine. Soah finally finished editing the photo. She gently rubbed her sore wrist and stood up and twisted her body. Mia brought over two cups of milky coffee: "Soahnie, this Saturday night, the neighboring city of Este is holding a charity event. If you don't go, I'll book a ticket." Soah took a sip of coffee, leaned back: "Okay, you order it, let's go Friday night." "Ah, you wanted to come early to find your boyfriend, right, haha." Soah's boyfriend Peter is working in Este, quite far from Lion. Peter was one of Soah's suitors when they were in college studying Photography at Urlish University. Thinking back to 3 months ago, Mia still couldn't imagine that one day Peter and Soah would date again. In the past, Peter was also one of Soah's pursuers, known for being very good at studying. Later, Soah was moved by that affection and agreed to become his girlfriend. But the two of them are really too busy, known as lovers and the number of times they meet can be counted on the fingers of one hand. — Coming home from work in the evening, in her hand carrying the sushi she stopped at the restaurant she used to buy, thinking about going to Este, Soah texted Peter: "Have you finished work yet? I'm home." Walking towards the kitchen, Soah faintly heard the sound of a knife and chopping board, startled to think that the thief turned out to be her beloved mother. "Mom, why are you here?" Her mother rolled her eyes, carrying a bag full of groceries: "I know you won't cook properly." Her mother suddenly asked: "Does Peter know how to cook?" "Maybe you know?" "Okay then, when you two get married in the future, you can still have someone to cook for you." "Mom is too worried." She and Peter have only known each other for 3 months, they haven't yet understood anything about each other, so how can they talk about marriage? "My brother is not in a hurry yet, who dares to get married first?" "..." — Soah's parents are both professors at University C, so since they were young, their family has lived in a cottage for employees at the school. After waiting for Soah to finish eating, her mother said goodbye and left. Not long after her mother left the house, it was raining heavily. She quickly ran to the bus station, planning to take a taxi to school. Suddenly a black BMW turned right in front. Inside the luxury car, a handsome man with long legs and elegant joints was holding a contract to read. In the front row, secretary Lil was reporting the schedule to the man. A slight squint appeared on his handsome face. After a moment, he asked: "When are you leaving, Este?" Secretary Lil looked at the schedule: "boss, booked tickets for Friday night, Saturday morning there is a meeting at the subsidiary in Este, in the afternoon meeting with director S and in the evening there is a party at the Farside hotel ." "uhm" Deem said faintly, his eyes absently looking out the car window. Under the dim light at the bus stop, there was a middle-aged woman standing alone, perhaps she was in a hurry. When the car approached, Deem recognized the person and asked the driver to stop. Deem opened the umbrella, walked quickly towards the woman, and called out: "Professor Jessica." Jessica couldn't find a car and was about to return to her daughter's house to get out of the rain, but unexpectedly someone called her. Under the dim rain, she vaguely recognized the young man in front of her: "Deem, why are you here?" Deem was once the student she loved the most. "Professor, do you want to go back to school? I'll take you home." Jessica smiled and refused: "That's too much trouble, I can just take the car." "It's okay, I'm on my way too." Jessica didn't refuse anymore, the two of them got into Deem's car. "When did you return home? Is studying for a PhD in Australia okay?" "I returned 4 months ago. I'm sorry, I've been quite busy with work so I haven't been able to visit you two." Jessica married comfortably: "It's not high, it's normal for young people to be busy. My husband also mentions you a lot, always using you as an example for his students." While talking, Jessica's phone rang. She quickly picked it up: "Yes, honey, I'm hitchhiking home. I'm an old student, no need to pick me up anymore, go to sleep." Soah called just now, she was worried that her mother hadn't caught the car home yet. After hearing her mother say that, Soah quickly cleaned up and then went to take a shower. Picking up the phone and seeing that Peter still hadn't responded to the text message, she didn't think much anymore, probably Peter was busy with work. Forget it, anyway, you'll go to Este tomorrow, then go find him later.
