The Wedding Video The hospital reeked of antiseptic and anxiety. I ran to the ICU floor, nearly colliding with a nurse. “Cole Hart,” I gasped. She nodded. “Room 709. Stable. You just missed him waking up.” I reached the room and froze at the door. He looked pale, eyes closed, machines humming around him. I crept closer. My hand found his. Warm. His eyes fluttered open. “Aria?” “I’m here.” He blinked. “Why?” “Because you’re mine. And I’m yours. Even if it started wrong.” His eyes filled. “You came back.” I pulled out my phone. “I want you to see this.” I played the Vegas wedding video. He watched silently. When it ended, he whispered, “You meant it?” “I did. Even drunk.” He chuckled weakly. “So did I.” We held each other until visiting hours ended. Later, I returned home to a stack of mail. A legal notice sat on top. I opened it. And stared in shock. It was a divorce petition. Filed yesterday. By me. Or… someone pretending to be me. Vanessa wasn’t done. And now she was trying to erase our marriage for good
