I start my days at 710am. I have to dress the kids. Shoes are never where their supposed to be. Coats or sweaters.
Caffeine is my life saver. Go go go. Like the roadrunner. What's his name?
Ehh. I'll think of it later. Kids have to be to school in 5 minutes.
Once everyone was in the van. We drive the 6 blocks to school. Where they'll go inside to eat their breakfast.
But because I have so much love to give. I always kiss my kids goodbye and "have a great day."
"Eww mom" Carter always complains.
I wish he'd stop growing so fast.
I pull out of the school parking lot with Jack in tow after watching my kids go into the school. Jack's munching on a Banana I handed him.
"Jack were headed to see the alpha here in a minute. Are you ganna be a good boy for momma?!"
I look at jack in the rear view mirror.. Cheeks like a chipmunk. He just nods his head.
"Good boy" I tell him as I turn the corner.
Alpha Drew lives almost on a farm. But has 80 acreage of forest behind the pack house. And around 350 wolves to this pack. I've done my research. Most people see tan wolves in this area. Always mistaken for Deer. People in these parts only see the color they saw. But never actually see the wolf. Deer Creek is neutral to surrounding packs. So they are ready to get along with and hardly ever any wars. But they are Fierce. According to reports.
I must be careful when I shift. Annie can be impatient sometimes. But she's pure white and will definitely stand out if we're seen.
I want to run. Annie tells me.
I know Annie. But we have to be careful, we still don't know who we can trust. I'll see Rachel will let the kids have a sleep over. Maybe we'll go tonight. Plus mother goddess said to trust this pack. Maybe we'll stay the night at the pack house.
That perks Annie up. She's all over the place in my head; being goofy and giddy.
I haven't figured out why yet.
That makes me smile as I open my side door of my van. I've had a really good feeling since my moment with mother goddess.
My van is a Pontiac Montana. But I like it. I bought it with my inheritance from grandma. I never have to work again. But I want to live simply not flashy. Draws to many eyes.
I unbuckle jack and start up the steps to the pack house.
Jogging quickly. I'm very curious what was urgent that they called me. I'm not apart of this pack. I asked the alpha to stay in town. Maybe he knows my secret? Has he smelled my kids!? I've got to walk faster.
Making my way quickly to the first door on the right. I'm about to knock when beta Roger scares me when the alpha door opens on its own. This makes me jump into defense stance, ready to attack with a baby on my hip.
Looking from my hand that was almost on the door knob to a pair of hunky blue eyes. I see Roger. He's the beta and has yet to find his mate. I'm telling you.. This man is eye candy.
He's got abs for days, chiseled jaw. Just the right five o'clock shadow. Blue eyes like the ocean. Arms and thighs like tree trunks.
I slowly relax as he spoke then he glances at jack. Jack is making direct eye contact to Roger. It can be weird. But my boy is protective of his momma and can read situation perfectly. I trust his intuition.
I simply smile.
" Good morning Abby,Your right on time. Please come in"
He's not even phased by me about to attack him. So I acted as normal as I could...
"alpha called last night. Is there anything wrong beta Roger?"
"Nooooo. We wanted to ask if you'd do us the honor in joining our pack."
I just stared at him. The look he's giving me is puppy eyes for him not to beg. Little does he know, I've already been told by moon goddess to trust this pack.
"Why do you want me and my babies "
I really hope he don't know my secret.
I'm trying to stay stone still and school my face. I may have twitched.
"As you know the mating festival is coming up and then the hunt for the white wolf. Alpha Drew and I felt you'd be safer here than in town around humans"
"I've never heard of that hunt before" I tell him. But instead I'm freaking out. Bad.
He looks at me like I'm insane. Hand to his chest.
All my life I've been hiding. How would this pack act if they found out about us. But I must try. But first I need to come up with a back up plan. We'll call it plan B.
I just stand to bounce jack on my hip.
