SERGIO’s POV
I have no choice to but to endure this painstaking conversation with everyone on this table. I do have a choice and I can’t walk out anytime I want or even feign a meeting but I know it will only hurt mama because of all the time and effort she put into making the meals with Maria and her inviting people over. I know she meant well and it has also been super long since I came home so she’s still relishing my presence.
“I need to go get the dessert.” Mama announces to the table and stands.
“Don’t worry about it hunny. I’m going to go get it. Don’t worry love” dad says offering to help mama.
She smiles and sits down.
“Excuse me, I’ll come with you dad.” I drop my napkin on the table and head out after my dad.
