Marco pushed down the anger burning a path through his veins. This was exactly why Aubrey’s dad had a problem with him. Every time she was with him, she wound up hurt. Whether it was emotional or physical it didn’t matter. Even all these years later and he still couldn’t protect her from himself.
It was like a sign sent from above, reminding him to stay away. He could practically hear her father’s voice in his ear, demanding as ever, telling him to stay the hell away from his daughter before he ruins her life.
