Chapter 21
Aubrey told Marco everything over a cheeseburger and fries. He listened, and even though he had strong opinions of her father, he kept them to himself. It wasn’t the time or the place to voice any of his opinions. Besides, from what Aubrey told him it seemed that she and her father had come to an understanding. He still was an asshole even if he was dying, but at least he tried to make things right before he was diagnosed.
Once she told him everything, they finished their food, and Aubrey paid the bill despite his protests. She was still pissed he’d tossed money down on the table at the other restaurant. He found her discontent quite amusing.
