Chapter 3

Astrid's POV

“I'm not sure I can handle it when my nephew looks at you.” Ethan said and I stopped brushing my hair to look at him.

“If you don't want me to go with you, I won't.” I said but he shook his head.

“No, no. Everyone is coming with their Luna. By the way, I would love to see the look on their faces when they finally realize that you were the same Astrid they banished years ago.”

I smiled and continued brushing my hair as I stood in front of the huge mirror. He came and stood behind me.

“I have a problem though.” He made me face him. “I'm not sure I can keep calm when Kai even talks to you for a second.” I placed a soft kiss on his lips before letting him go but that didn't happen, he wouldn't let me disentangle myself from him.

“Don't tease me, Astrid.” He said, then took my lips fully in his but then we heard little footsteps approaching and we stopped.

“Daddy, could you help me with my dress?”

There, she was. My little goddess. The result of my escapades with Kai 4 years ago. As I watched her ask Ethan for a request she should have asked me, I couldn't wish for a better father for her, than Ethan.

“Okay, my princess. Whatever you say. I'll make sure you look like a goddess at the event today.”

We had thought about it and we decided that we should go together as a family. It was the yearly celebration of the Alpha's power force, an event that is held every year encompassing every park. All Alpha was expected to come with their Luna in their best appearance.

We shared ideas, moments, it was just an event basically for Alpha and Luna of different parks to connect.

The love I had for Ethan had filled my heart but a part of it still wanted revenge against Kai for banishing me 5 years ago. This was the perfect event to do that.

Knowing that Kai loved power and showing off, he was going to be at his best with his pathetic Luna, Charlotte. And for the fact that the event was going to be held at his park, Shadowfell Park, he was going to be too proud.

Few minutes later, we were on our way to Eternal Hall at Shadowfell where the event would take place.

We walked in and I looked around. The hall was filled with different Alphas from different parks in the Werewolf territory.

I caught sight of Kai and his Luna, Charlotte. She wasn't looking bad but I was way better looking than she would ever be.

Just then, my then mother in law, Kai's mother who had slapped me 4 years ago walked right to us. “Hello, sister in law. You're welcome.” She held out her hands and touched my shoulder. I stared at her before staring at my shoulder where she held me.

“Don't lay your filthy hands on me.” I said. She was taken aback by how I spoke to her but I didn't care. 5 years ago, she was my mother in law who disrespected and bullied me, now I was her sister in law and was greater than her in position.

Of course, she wouldn't recognize me. I didn't look as slim and hungry as I did 5 years ago when I was literally tortured in the Palace. I looked way more beautiful and better than I was.

“It's time for the procession.” Someone yelled.

It was finally time for different Alphas and their Luna to be introduced. It was done by hierarchy so I knew our name would be among the first five. Ethan had really made a mark and a name for himself.

“Alpha Jaxon and Luna Stacy Silverclaw.” The guards announced and they walked in, hand in hand smiling. Alpha Jaxon was Ethan's best friend so we knew each other. They waved their hands as they walked to their seats.

I looked around for my parents and saw them standing in the ground, looking expectant. They looked older and malnourished too. I was their only child so they must have lost all hope when I was banished.

“Alpha Logan and Luna Sophia Forestheart.” They were the family that was hosting this party so it was protocol that their names be called first.

“Alpha Ethan and Luna Astrid Nor..” The voice of the announcer trailed off as beads of sweat went down his face. I watched as everyone turned to each other in shock, especially the people from my previous park.Then my parents ran to the front in expectation for the announcer to finish.

“Alpha Ethan and Luna Astrid Nora.”

Of course, they remembered me. To them, I was the hopeless Omega who charmed the Alpha to marry her but then lied against him and got banished. I was quite the popular one because the news about me didn't just end in my park but circulated everywhere.

I lived in the shadow while Kai got the attention as the good guy at that time.

I walked in with smiles. I had dreamt of this day and it was finally here. I and Ethan waved our hands while Isabella, my little princess, walked behind us. It was delightful for me to watch the surprise on their ugly faces as they stared at me.

After the procession, each family was given a chance to speak to the crowd and of course, I wouldn't pass this chance. I mean, even the crowd wanted an explanation from me, I could see it from the way they gazed at me.

“My name is Astrid Nora. I am originally from this Park, Shadowfell Park but was banished for telling the truth. I was once married to your Alpha but that was in the past now. The bottom line is that I'm a very happy Luna married to the best Alpha with my beautiful pup, right here.”

“I hope I'm free to visit since 5 years have passed, right?”

They all gazed at each other, surprise written all over their faces. It was the exact reaction I had expected.

I never knew what it felt like giving people the taste of their own medicine but standing in front of this crowd and addressing the people who hated me once, Revenge felt sweater than what I heard it was.
