FOR THE SAKE OF LOVE

Chapter Two

Since Arsher had checked up some apartment the were available for rent the previous day ,she took a cab and went straight to where she had rented an apartment.

"Thanks,"she smiled at the driver and went straight to toward her room ."Miss Peterson, you're welcome," an elderly man greeted and handed Arsher a bunch of keys.

"Thanks,Mr ........,"

"Anderson, you can call me Charlie,"he replied and Arsher nodded."Don't hesitate to call me if you need anything, I live here he pointed to the door behind him.

"Ok but......."."Third floor, third door ,"he cut her off." Ok thanks, I'll be going now,"She said and hurried away.She locked the door behind her as soon as she entered an threw herself in the couch.After lying there for a few minutes,she ifked up her phone and called Tania.

"Baby,"Tania squealed on the other end.

"You don't have to make that sound , you know.You sound like a monse being strangled," Arsher teased.

"Did you call me to tease me or what ,huh?"Tania whined and Arsher laughed at how childish she was behaving. The two talked for a while with Tania telling her about her new boyfriend.

"Another boyfriend? Tania, how many boys now ?I think you should stick to one person, seriously.What happened between you and Josh?,''Arsher asked.

"That guy was an asshole,"Tania replied.

"Hang on you were crazy for that asshole months ago."

"That was before I found out he was an asshole,"Tania replied .

"Ok tell me what happened,"Arsher chuckled.

"Remember Sofia right?"Tania asked her .

"Yeah, Josh's sister,"Arsher replied.

"Well he lied,"Tania said raising her voice a bit.

"Tania, you didn't jump into conclusions again right?"

"Arsher, I didn't, I caught them red-handed this time."

"Caught them doing what?"Arsher said not sounding convinced.

"Making out, how old are you three?."

"So you're telling me you caught Josh making out with his sister,"Arsher said.

"She's not his sister,"Tania yelled .

"Ok, sorry, so what happened?"Arsher asked no wanting to miss any detail.

"I slapped him and broke up with him,"Tania said casually.

"Tania, I gotta go , I'll call you later ,okk?"

"Ok ,take care bye,"Tania said and hang up.

Immediately Tania hung up, Arsher dragged her luggage upstairs and started packing them into the wardrobe. Whiles unpacking she saw a mother's photo album, which got here distracted for a while.She began flipping through and observing every picture because she believed each of them would held a clue to finding her father.

"Why did you have to leave me mom ?,she said as she ran her finger over one of the pictures."Now I am here alone in a foreign place where I have nobody,"she said and a tear slid down her cheek.She sniffed and wiped her hand with the back of her hand and put the album away in her drawer and continued putting her things in the wardrobe."Dad where are you?'' She"Dad where are you?, She whispered as she lay on her bed and drifted off to sleep.

"Beep,beep, beep beep beep, beep,"the sound of her alarm woke her up from her slumber.

She rubbed her eyes and looked around as if looking for something.she checked the time and realized she has been sleeping for six straight because it was 10pm already.She quickly went to the bathroom and took a warm bath.After bathing she wore a pair of baggy pants with an over sized hoodie and set out to look for food.

Whiles roaming the streets of New York for food, she came across a notice that said waitresses were needed at a restaurant by name"VICTORIA'S RESTAURANT". She quickly took a one flier folded it neatly and tucked it in her pocket and continued to search for food.

The aroma of freshly made barbaque filled the air making Arsher stomach rumble. She followed trail with the help of her nose .After buying a couple of sticks, she followed here map and way back home .

Back at home,Arsher was sitting in the couch watching TV when she heard a knock.

"Who could that be, it quarter to midnight,"she wondered.

She tiptoed to the door and asked who was there.

"Grace, I live next door ,"a voice answered and Arsher heaved a sigh of relief.

"Ok that's great ,"Arsher replied.

"I decided to pass by ,call me if you need anything,"Grace yelled and without waiting for Arsher's answer,she left.

Arsher returned to the couch and took the plate to the kitchen,drank some water and turned the TV and went to her bedroom.

"Henry !," Liliana yelled her son's name for the thousandth time that morning.

"Over here mom,"he answered as he descended the stairs.

"What took you so long ?I remember telling you you brother will be arriving at the airport today and you should go with the driver to pick him up." Liliana scolded him.

"Why can't the driver go alone ? Besides I have a meeting with Austin and Joel . Mom please let Kira go with the driver ok? , Henry said a left without waiting for his mother opinion.

"This boy will drive me crazy,"Liliana face-palmed as she went up to Kira's room.

"Kira???,"she called as she knocked on the door softly.

"Come in mom,I told you several times you don't have to knock before entering,"Kira said as her mom entered.

"You don't have any plans for today , do you?" Liliana asked and Kira shook her head.

"I cancelled all my plans after Henry told me Daniel was arriving today.

"So you wouldn't mind going to the airport with the driver to fetch him ,do you?"

"No I'd be glad to ,besides, I miss him,"Kira smiled.

"Great because I have a lot to do at the restaurant,"Liliana said.

"So do you mean you wouldn't be around when he comes home ?"Kira asked.

"That not what ......"

"Enough""Enough mother," Kira yelled."You and dad have always neglected us, it always works, work, work, it's enough ! We've had enough. Why didn't you kill us before we were born?" she said and stormed off before Liliana could say anything.

"Good morning madam, breakfast is served," one of the maids greeted her but she completely Ignored her and left.

"Hey sis, where to? , "Henry asked but Kiraa just rolled her eyes and kept going.

"Hey, why are you suddenly grumpy," Henry said as he ran to catch up with her. He held her wrist and turned her around and saw tears in her eyes.

"Why? what's wrong?"Henry asked with concern filled in his voice.

" Nothing, I'm fine," Kira said while wiping the tears off her eyes.

"Are you sure? Because I'm ready to beat the hell out of the person responsible for these tears," Henry said.

"Really?" Kira said with a brow raised and Henry nodded.

"Ok, so what if I tell you it's mom?" Kira smiled.

"Ummmmmmm.....," Henry said looking up at the sky.

"What? Now go in there and beat the hell out of that person." Kira said and pushed Henry slightly.

"Wait, what if I don't beat the person but I get you your favorite ice cream," Henry said with a puppy face.

"That's not gonna work but I like the sound of ice cream," Kira smiled and hugged Henry.

"I love you, Henry," she said.

I love you too, sis."

"Ok gotta go, "Henry said and pegged her forehead.

" Ok, see you later," she waved him as he rode off.

Archer stretched and yawned loudly as her eyes flew open. She lazily walked to the bathroom, brushed her teeth, and took a warm bath. After bathing she change into something casual and decided to go grocery shopping.

"Hey neighbor, I'm Grace remember me?" a woman in her twenties greeted her cheerfully.

"Yeah, I do, how can I forget someone who came knocking on my door at midnight," Arsher said.

"Oh sorry about that, it's just that when I heard you moved in I couldn't wait it wait to meet you," Grace said with a smile." I made you some cookies," she said and gave Arsher a basket.

"Thanks, I was just about to get some groceries so I'll just put this inside," Arsher said and went inside.

After the grocery shopping, she invited Grace over because she wanted to know more about Victoria's restaurant.

"I'm so glad you invited me over," Grace smiled as Arsher ushered inside.

"Yh, I'm new here and kinda need someone to help me find my way around,"Arsher said as she walked to the kitchen.

" You have come to the right person."
