Chapter 56 ENZO I gripped the steering wheel tightly as we sped down the familiar streets towards Arielle’s house. The early morning sun cast a golden hue over the neighborhood, but my heart felt heavy with worry. Aiden and Derek sat beside me, their silence only amplifying my anxiety. We had broken our promise to come see Arielle afterwards and I dreaded facing her. I couldn’t blame her for being angry. In fact, her angry text from last night still burned in my mind. She had every right to be upset with us. I had tried calling her multiple times, hoping to explain and apologize, but each attempt had gone unanswered. My mind raced with thoughts of what could be going through her head. I feared that she would start avoiding us again. I glanced at Aiden and Derek, who mirrored my unease.
