DEREK’S POV
As we walked towards school, I could feel the tension between Arielle and us. Enzo and I tried to make small talk, but she was ignoring us as if we didn’t even exist.
The morning air was chilly and brisk. The sun had just risen and the sky was still tinged with a soft pink hue, but the world around them was shrouded in a thick fog, which lent an air of mystery and stillness to the environment.
