As I remain in the back of my mind allowing Max full control, I was present during their exchange. When the surge of power shot through me, I was shocked to see Macy's history. All the pain she has gone through, all the Betrayal she has dealt with. I saw how it changed her. I can feel all of her apprehension but now I know why she feels that way. I know and feel that she loves me, but that feeling sends her into a spiral of fear, doubt and anger. Her ex was just her most recent betrayal. She has been hurt more times than I can count. The fact that she is even giving me a chance is a miracle in itself. Goddess bless the Mate Bond, because without it I don't see how she would have ever given me the time of day.
