Chapter TenVikki decided the weather suited her mood perfectly. The mercury had frozen at thirty and thick, black-bellied clouds grouped the sky in threatening formation. Lungful’s of cold air had little effect on her body. Why should it? She had been numb for the last twenty-four hours and the grimness of her surroundings only echoed the bleakness in her heart.
Looking back over her shoulder, Vikki stared at the giant footprints her furry Eskimo mukluks had left in the snow. The pristine virgin beauty had been destroyed by her shuffling boots. She sighed and shook her earmuffed head. She had certainly cornered the market on destruction. Yesterday it had been friendships!
