After dinner the family, minus Lady Adina who’d sought her bed early this night, and guests who were staying at Lyden, gathered in the drawing room. The topic of the betrothal between the earl and Lady Isabel had been discussed during every free moment since the two returned from their walk in the ruins. Because of that, the current conversation centered around the abysmal weather, and the possibility that the head gardener was correct and the rain and cold temperatures would continue off and on for the rest of the week. This of course caused at least a few of the ladies in the room to groan.
