A Love Story

EPISODE 1

The loud sound of the alarm interrupted Regina's sweet dreams. She turned it off and went back to bed and hugged her pillow again. She planned to go back to sleep for a little while. This is what she has loved to do for the past 15 years, because it is only in her dreams that she got a chance to be with her one true love. How she wished they would meet again and so she could confess her feelings for him. A deep longing for a long lost love can be seen in her eyes.

Before she could continue with her thoughts, her cellphone rang. Her secretary is calling. "Hi, Lynn!", she said. "Good morning Ma'am Regina, I am calling to remind you about the board meeting this morning." Lynn says on the line. She abruptly stood up and remembered the meeting. She can't be late. Her father might come. She needs to be prepared.

She headed straight to the shower. Her early morning thoughts were totally erased by the cold water that ran through her face and body. Regina is now focused on the task at hand. She's always perfect at everything she's doing. She's helping her father run their company. She can't afford mistakes. She can't disappoint him. She will never give her halfsister a chance to be better than her. That ambitious stepsister of hers. "I know she wants to get dad's attention because she wants to take over the company someday. How conceited of her to think she'd have a chance. That manipulating b***h is so shameless to even desire to become the CEO of CTR Company. " Regina's eyes turned dark as she pondered on the thought.

She's finally done and turned off the shower. She dried and wrapped her long chestnut hair with a towel and wore her bathrobe. She got her office dress that she had prepared the night before. She is always organized and independent. Though they had many servants at home, she preferred to personally set up all her stuff, especially her big bedroom. This is a private place for her and she rarely allows anyone to enter her room. If only her parents would allow her to have her own apartment. But after what had happened before, they were so protective of her. She's their only daughter, said her mom, and the only heir to the CTR Company. That's why she has to be safe all the time. She's already 26, the Vice President of CTR Company, but she's still living with her parents and goes around with several body guards. Not that she complains. Her life is good. She's happy, wealthy and beautiful. Lots of wealthy bachelors had expressed their intentions to her but she dismissed them all. She only wanted one man. He has a special place in her heart for 15 years now. He was the love of her life.

"Regina, Darling!". Her thoughts was cut short by her mom's calling. Of course she's calling to inform Regina that that their breakfast is ready. Ever since her mom came back she always prepare them breakfast. She became more thoughtful and caring. She always act as if she wants to fill in the years she's away from them. She can't blame her mother even if she thought that living them specially her for more than a year was a very selfish act. But of course she forgave her mother. She completely understand that her mother was so hurt by the betrayal of her father. She remembered her mother saying that she could have accepted the fact lightly if he only had the courage to confess at the beginning. But of course all of those painful memories and chaos in the family are now in the past. They are complete and they are happy, in fact, happier for the past 15 years. Their bond became stronger and the love they had for each other is what had made them stay together despite all the trials they had encountered. Regina was so thankful on the day her mother decided to come back. She clearly remembered how things was put into its proper place again. She lit up their home and put the colors back. She was the sunshine that had lit up the darkness that was trying to overpower them before. She felt a little chill on those memories. She can't imagine how their life would have been without her mother.

"Regina" This time she heard her mother knocked at the door. "Breakfast is waiting, what is taking you so long darling?" Her mother asked behind the close doors. "I'm coming mom. Just give me a minute". She answered without having the intent to open the door. She knows her mother will understand that she doesn't want anyone entering her bedroom. She grab her suitcase and her signature bag, put on her high heels and went out of the bedroom to join her mom and dad for breakfast.

"Good morning, mom!" She kissed her mother on the cheek. "Where's dad?" She asked curiously upon seeing her mother alone in the dining. There are only two plates readied on the table. "He is not joining us mom?" She added.

"Yes, I mean no" Her mother replied distractedly. "Oh, that's odd. Where is he mom? Aren't he reporting in the office? Is dad sick?" Concern started to reflect on her beautiful face. "Oh, no darling. Your dad's fine. In fact he's not around. He left first thing in the morning." Her mother said while giving her the plate of freshly- baked bacon. She put some bacon on her plate. She frowned and tried to recall if the CEO/ President would personally need to meet a client today. " I can't remember dad would have to meet a client today. Whoever he is, he must be a VIP." Her mother did not respond. "Wait, I'm going to call Lynn to check on dad's schedule and find out who he's meeting with." Regina reached for her phone when her mother exclaimed. "Don't!" She looked at her mother in surprise. " I mean, h-he's w-with Tonny. Y-yeah your uncle Tonny invited him to go f-fishing. T-that's why he left early." Her mother explained quickly. "Oh, I see. The CEO is taking a day-off" She nodded in agreement but quickly added. " How could he not tell me, mom? There's a board meeting today and I'm expecting him to be around to approve some important details" She complained. "Don't worry dear, I believe your father put his trust in you. You were with him in the company for almost 6 years now. You can do it darling. Decide on whatever you think is good for the company." Her mother said reassuringly. "Anyway, the first thing you should do now is to finish your breakfast so you could get going." Her mother added.

Regina finished her meal with enthusiasm. She's not like the other ladies who eat very little to maintain their figures. She eats all she wants and as many as she wants. Food is another thing that makes her happy. Despite of this, she still can be considered as one of the sexiest woman in the Bet City, and the one with the most beautiful face. That is why just recently she was nominated to be a cover of one of the most prestigious magazine in the city.

The maid approach them after breakfast informing Regina that her car and bodyguards are ready. "Goodbye mom. See you later. Please prepare another good dinner for me. I'm looking forward to it." She said while walking with her mother down to the corridor. Her mother was surprisingly quiet, and something seems to be bothering her. But Regina did not notice her.

When she's about to hop in the car her mother stopped her. "Wait!" She said. "What is it mom"? Regina asked curiously. "Darling, don't you think it's time for you to get married? I-I mean you're not getting any younger. Just maybe you have or or y-you know someone or you're dating someone who you think could be your future husband?" Her mother said cautiously. Her expression change with the talk about marriage. "Mom! Why do you have to brought this up? You know my stand on marriage. I love someone- " "But he's not around Regina, it's been 15 years" Her mother interrupted her "No, mom you don't understand" She said hurtfully. "Okay, darling, hush now. I'm sorry for bringing this up to you. Just concentrate on your meeting today. Forget that I brought this up. I'm sorry." Her mother said quickly. Regina nodded and hop in the car.

Rachel was left standing there while watching her daughter go. She's accompanied by her bodyguards. They insisted on this set up even if Regina refused. They can't afford to lose their precious daughter. This is for her protection. But what bothers her most is Regina's refusal to entertain gentlemen who wants to pursue her. She never gave any of them a chance to at least established a relationship to her. She remained aloof from all the gentlemen in their circles. What will happen to her precious daughter should she decide not to marry? She's been waiting for that guy she met 15 years ago. She's too stubborn on this matter. She and tom had exerted effort and resources to be able to find this man named Carl. He's the only man Regina would want to marry. But all traces of him is gone and it's hard to look for a man you only know by the first name. Maybe this Carl is married now and forgot about her daughter. How could he promised to comeback to a then 11-year old Regina. Now, her precious daughter is waiting a lifetime for this man. Deep inside her heart he felt a grudge towards Carl for not keeping his promise to his daughter. Oh, my poor Regina. Her heart aches at the thought that her daughter would be alone in this world if she would be stubborn not to marry other men besides Carl.

She and Tom had decided to do something. This might be against the will of her daughter but she's confident that Regina will understand eventually. She hopes that when the time comes Regina will not hate them. She keeps her fingers crossed that everything will run smoothly as it was planned. And that her beautiful daughter would accept the fact that Carl is never coming back.

She can't wait for Tom to come home and tell her everything about his meeting. Yes, she lied to Regina about her father's whereabouts. She will know in the right time, anyway. Regina has always been an obedient daughter. She follows what they decide for her because she understands that it was for her own good. That's why Rachel thinks that their plan will be a success.

With this thoughts her mood lightened. She the started to go back inside the mansion. She has to prepare and go to the grocery shop to look for something for dinner. Regina requested for a special dinner and that request will be granted one hundred percent.

Meanwhile, Regina on her way to the office can't stop thinking about what her mother had just said. It was liked she was slapped in the face. "Moms right, it was 15 years ago. Oh how time flies so fast." Regina thought. Her heart aches from the thought that Carl is never coming back. But she disregard this possibility. She will never acknowledge this. She has been waiting for him and she is still willing to wait for him even if it meant she will be a maiden forever.

"Oh Carl, I hope that you'll have a good reason for not fulfilling your promise to that 11-year old girl" But please comeback, please Carl I'm just right here waiting for you." Regina said longingly.

Meanwhile at the newly established extension office of the CB Corporation, there were two gentlemen who are having a serious conversation. Tom, Regina's father and Bryan the CEO of CB Corporation...
