FEW HOURS LATER
Allison POV
lt remains two 2️⃣ hours before work will end 🔚. Maybe l can ask him now about the advance payment. So after a lot of contemplating, l finally got the courage and walked up this desk.
"Uhm 🥺 sir" l said feeling nervous 💗.
"What"he said without even looking up from his laptop 💻, well that gave me courage since l did not 🚫 have to look at his eyes 👁️👁️ or anything.
"l would like to ask you something"l said and he looked up and all my courage flew out of the nearby window but l could not 🚫 stop 🛑 now, my mom's life was depending on it.
"Go on"hr said still looking at me waiting to say something.
"l would like to collect my salary 💵 for the month today" l said hoping he wouldn't refuse.
"You want to collect your salary 💵 in advance, is that what you are saying" he said looking intently at me and l could not 🚫 help but start sweating 🥵.
"Yes sir" l said wondering 🤔 if he did not 🚫 understand the question ❓ l asked but looking at his expression, he did.
"Why would you want to collect your salary 💵 in advance?" He asked still looking at me.
"Well, no particular reason sir, it is just really important"l said nit wanting to reveal the reason why.
"Ok 👌🏻 then, of you can not 🚫 reveal the reason then l think 💬 there is no reason to give an advance salary to a new 🆕 comer in my office without even knowing if she would come to work anymore.lf you were the boss, don't you think that is ridiculous" Well he was right 👍🏻. l wouldn't trust the person either.
So l decided to stop 🛑 lying 🤥 and come clean because he was already looking 👀 back 🔙 at his laptop 💻 and that might mean end 🔚 of conversation.
"Sir, the truth is my mom needs a lot of money 💰 for her treatment because she is very ill 🤒 and l can not 🚫 afford it right now" l said bowing my head in other not to see his expression.
"So you lied 🤥 in the first 🥇 place"he said and l looked up trying to read his expression but it was very complicated.
"l am very sorry 😔 sir, l did not mean to, l just thought 💭______" l said bowing.
"____you thought l was heartless enough to the extent that even if you told me that the money 🤑 was for your mom's treatment ⛑️, l would not 🚫 care because l am a rich 🤑 spoilt brat right 👍🏻" he said and that is what actually went through my mind but l could not 🚫 say that out loud 🔊 so l just stayed silent 😶.
"l see, well you don't have to worry, your mom's treatment will be taken care of by me and you will still collect your salary at the end of the month, who knows, if yiu work hard enough yiu might even collecta bonus" l just stood there not knowing what to say, l mean what could l say, he is offering to do both, well this should be a good thing 🙂 but l don't know why l suddenly felt bad 😞.
"ls there something else because l don't know why you are still standing here, the last time l remembered you still had work to do" he said bringing me out of my thinking 🙇🏻♀️.
"Y__yes sir" l said and was walking towards my desk when Miss Jones someone knocked on the door 🚪 and Miss Jones came in. Great 🙄.
She seemed to be very angry 😠 and she was looking 👁️👁️ straight at me but l still greeted her anyway.
"Good afternoon ☀️ Miss Jones"l greeted trying so hard to smile 😁.
"What is good about this afternoon huh?" she said glaring at me, what did l do?
"Did l offend you in any way Miss Jones?" l asked carefully so she would not 🚫 be more angry 😡 than she already is.
"So you have forgotten" she said and that for me confused 😕.
"Forgotten what? Miss Jones"l asked.
"That you are supposed to have lunch 🍱 with me today, have you forgotten your promise so soon 🔜"Right, l promised her that in the morning 🌅 but l was so busy l forgot about it.
"l am so sorry Miss Jones, it is an honest mistake, l have been so busy l forgot about lunch 🍱" l said and tgat is when her expression calmed.
"You forgot"she said then she turned to her brother.
"How could you do that to this innocent and fragile girl, you might be able to skip lunch but you are a man, have you forgotten that there is now a lady with you?" She said angrily 💢at her brother who just looked at her as if she was stating the last will of William Shakespeare.
"Looks like you have forgotten that l am your older brother, what l do is none of your concern, now get back to work"he said and she turned towards tye door 🚪 having no option and looked at me whispering the words.
'Don't worry, l will save you' and she smiled sinisterly before she left and l walked to my desk happy 😊 that everything went well and l will soon 🔜 be going home 🏡.
