Adrian stood in the doorway, his eyes scanning my face with what looked like concern. But I didn't trust it.
I couldn't trust anything about him anymore.
"What's going on?" Adrian stepped into the office fully, closing the door behind him. "I saw the whole pack in a frenzied state. Warriors running everywhere. What's happened?"
I pushed myself up from where I'd been sitting against the door, brushing off my clothes.
My hand was still on my sword hilt, and I forced myself to release it. I needed to stay calm.
"Where have you been since this morning?" I asked instead of answering his question.
Adrian blinked, surprised by the response. "What?"
"It's a simple question. Where have you been all day?"
