I looked around again at the shocked faces of the guards and the council members, my frustration mounting with each passing second.
"Has anyone seen Adrian?" I asked again, my voice sharper this time. "Anyone at all?"
The silence that followed was deafening. Guards looked at each other, shaking their heads. The council members exchanged worried glances but offered no answers.
"Search the perimeter of the mating grounds," I commanded, pointing to a group of guards. "Check every corner, every shadow. He might be injured somewhere."
"Yes, Alpha," they said, immediately dispersing to carry out my orders.
I turned to another group. "Go to the pack house and search every room, every corridor. Ask if anyone has seen him and report back to me immediately."
