I screamed again as the nightwalker took another step, adjusting its broken leg with a sickening grinding sound.
I could not let it reach the main courtyard. I could not allow it to get to the pack house.
This was a fully grown nightwalker. A powerful one. Stories said creatures like this could match the strength of five wolves at once. A single fully grown nightwalker could destroy an entire pack if given the chance.
