I collapsed on the bed, weak and completely spent.
My body felt like it had been through a battle, every muscle aching, every nerve oversensitive.
Through glazed eyes, I watched Darius walk out of the room without a backward glance.
I tried to call out to him, to ask him to stay, to ask him what had just happened between us. But my voice was so hoarse from screaming that no sound came out.
I lay there for a long while, staring at the ceiling, trying to make sense of what had just occurred.
My mind was foggy, my thoughts scattered like leaves in the wind.
Finally, I managed to gather enough strength to crawl out of the bed. Each movement sent fresh waves of pain through my body, but I forced myself to keep going.
